  • Amazing.

This mini series starts off with a special effects extravaganza, something expected from Dean Devlin. This makes the show really watchable. The story is well written, it's a very entertaining start to the mini series. The characters are all introduced, we're shown who they are and what they are about. The effects in this show is pretty good, they could have done better though after all they made independence day. i really had a good time with this one, it's really well made, the story is exciting, it's not dull, it's a very watchable show. this is one of the best mini series i've seen in a while.
  • A powerboat full of Greenpeace members is trying to stop a whaling vessel from harpooning a poor whale when suddenly some gasses - or something - rises from the sea floor and the centre of the ship explodes, folding up like a clam shell and sinks to the b

A fairly spectacular start - forgetting the lead in with the re-enactment of the Spanish ships from the 15th century succumbing to the whims of the triangle that is.

The whaler takes the greenpeace boat with it and there is only one survivor.

All in all I thought this first instalment was really exciting and thought provoking.

That is, except for the fact that it started out by having Catherine Bells character inform everyone that the Atlantic Ocean is the deepest ocean on earth....WRONG.

For everyones benefit (who didn't know it already), the Pacific Ocean is the deepest ocean on the planet. And there are at least a dozen scientific expeditions going on right now that continue to find even deeper parts.

Other than that piece of eroneous intel, I enjoyed it.

Looking forward to seeing part 2. It's definately worth an 8/10 at this stage.
