  • Steve dreams of Hollywood fame and wonders why he doesn't get more big offers from America. Rob continues to irritate him whilst greatly charming everyone else.

    10
Whilst consuming lavish gourmet meals (which cost a fortune!), Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon engage in not-quite-friendly backbiting. This is quite edgy comedy, albeit hilarious - it's only too easy to believe that most showbiz friendships are false at the core, based on elaborate (and sometimes not even diguised) competitiveness. Is Steve the more precise mimic of other people's voices, as he insists - or is it just that he's not actually as funny as Rob? Steve's dream at the start of the episode - in which an unbilled Ben Stiller assures him fawningly that everyone in Hollywood is desperate to work with "the Coog" - is as terribly revealing as it's pathetic. This comedy is unafraid to go to dark places.moreless
