Although Steve is contemptuous when Rob includes himself as one of "the big four from Port Talbot" - the others being Richard Burton, Anthony Hopkins and Michael Sheen - he maybe notices the similarity between this boasting and his own arrogant self-approbation. Certainly, the deconstruction of his ego continues apace as he has an awkward phone conversation with his estranged son and an even more awkward (but hilarious) chat with a man he meets at the "limestone pavement", an imposing geological phenomenon which interests this stranger far more than the showbiz eminence of his hastily-departing interlocutor. The scene is set for the truths of the final episode, where Rob and Steve realise that their cheapest, least pretentious meal together (a simple alfresco breakfast) is also the best and Steve musters the nerve to decline the big American offer.moreless
