When I first watched the pilot episode on Paramount Comedy 1 a couple of years back, I thought it was great. Jon Cryer really stood out as the paranoid Zack Mango and anyone who has seen Two and a Half Men know what a great talent he is.
This is not to say that he is the only talent in The Trouble with Normal, the whole cast are funny in their own right. David Krumholtz is funny as 'the almost normal, but still quite paranoid' Bob, as is Larry Joe Campbell as the insecure Stansfield, and Brad Raider has his moments as Max. Plus of course, Paget Brewster is great as their therapist Claire. Still, out of all of them, Jon Cryer seems to steal the show as Zack.
I truly think that if it was given more of a chance it would have gone a lot further. Call me crazy, but that is my opinion.
