King En brings Youko to his inn. He explains the concept behind her sword, and how the old monkey man will easily manipulate the weak minded if they're not strong enough. Rakushun, after finding out his friend is a queen, finds himself unworthy of even associating with her. But Youko convinces they're still friend. King En, his kirin Enki that appeared in several cases so far--he's also that same boy Youko encountered in the first episode--Rakushun, and Youko, head towards King En's palace. Rakushun transforms into his human form to show respect for the palace, and Youko is somewhat embarrassed. Enki and King En update Youko with the Kingdom that will be hers in the future. Keiki has been forcefully manipulated by another entity in order to plaster a fake queen into the throne. Youko however, doesn't even think she's worthy enough for such an honourable title. Then, one of King En's servants touches upon the story of how King En and Enki were once like Youko.

What really gave the icing to the cake in this episode is the scene when Rakushun was going to run away after finding out Youko is of such high stature. Nothing was too cliched; it was executed perfectly, and how it ended added both a dramatic ending to a great scene, and some comic relief. It's great to finally know where old monkey man came from. This hopefully means we won't be seeing his annoying face anymore, but Sugimoto, who's even more annoying, will probably be appearing more in future episodes. Until I start feeling pity for that girl, I'll definitely still gain pleasure from seeing her suffer. Oh man I'm taking an anime way too seriously, but that's just how great the character development is in this series. Some characters here develop much faster in five episodes than other characters do in like a hundred episodes--Inuyasha, cough.moreless
