Youko decides to go look for Enho. She's bewildered by what could have injured Kei Kei like that. Shoukei discusses with her group about the bad situation of the area. They bring up the idea of a rebellion. It's clear that Shokou must be stopped. Meanwhile Sekki and his group are in the middle of moving locations of their hideout. Suzu and Shoukei end up being sent to the same inn as representatives, exchanging money for toki weapons with their respected groups. The master of the inn prevents them from getting personal with each other. They end up having to stay the night. That night they realize they are both after Shokou and how much they've lost along the way. Suzu begins to cry but Shoukei assures her that Queen Kei would be a good person. Back at Shokou's palace, he describes to Asano''how he is protected from being punished by the heavens for his sins. Asano wants to save the queen of Kei, but Shokou forbids it. Youko burst into Sekki and Koshou's new hide out and proves to them that she's after Shoukou as well. They all then seem to have an understanding and agree to take out Shoukou together. Koshou offers Youko a toki weapon, but Youko says her sword will do just fine.moreless - Ep 12Chapter Eleven
Youko defeats all the guards chasing her, and they run away. Shoukou sends Asano with his men to visit the house Youko's been staying at. Shoukei gets hidden at a house in town by her new friend who saved her. In exchange for staying she does all his dishes for him. He discusses with her about how Shoukou runs this area and often goes to "hunt" people. Enraged, she wonders why Queen Kei allows such a man to run this area. Elsewhere, Koshou is explaining the ways of their group to Suzu. Suzu seems determined to make Queen Kei pay... Youko goes to the groups inn and talks to Suzu. Suzu explains why she hates Queen Kei. Youko, still using the alias, is upset that her people think this way of her and leaves. Shoukou's men storm Enho's house. Asano sees the boy, Kei Kei, and feaks out. Thinking it's Seishou, he shoots the boy. Confused about what he just did, the men kill her mother and leave with Enho as their hostage. Just then Youko and Keiki return there. Keiki smells blood so Youko checks it out. She sees how Enho was gone and people are killed. She notices the wound on Kei Kei was made by a bullet... She vows not to let anyone else die from Shoukou.''moreless - Ep 11Chapter Ten
Suzu visits the palace of Kei, only to find out Youko isn't there. She leaves and decides to come back another time. Back in Kokei, Youko finds out that there have been strange men lurking around the area. Convinced that they are spying on her, she isn't very worried. Youko decides to leave town for awhile and informs Enho that she is leaving, figuring that whoever these mysterious men are, will follow her out. Suzu runs into Sekki again in town and goes back to their inn to spend the night. She goes to try and kill Shoukou but is stopped by Koshou and Sekki. They decide to let Suzu in on their group. While they have no name, they share the common hatred of Shoukou and plan on taking him down.. But they'll have to do it carefully. Elsewhere, Shoukou gives Asano a special pass that will grant him access anywhere. They then go together to a meeting with Gaou, a political figure that keeps Shoukou safe. They decide to send Asano on a mission to find out Queen Kei. Elsewhere, Shoukei is witnissing a public execution on a man for breaking the law. Enraged that such a thing is being allowed she throws a rock a guard. They spread out to find her. Youko appears and gets her to safety. Shoukou sends Asano and some guards to capture Shoukei. One of Keiki's shirai saves the prisoner and Youko stalls the guards while Shoukei gets rescued by a man. Asano appears but seems confused and allows Shoukei and the man to escape.''moreless - Ep 10Chapter Nine
Suzu curses Asano for leaving Seishuu alone as the villagers help her carry him out of the road. Everyone denies seeing the incident leaving Suzu to wonder whats going on... A man named Sekki tells her not to cry about him for herself.. and she remembers how against Seishuu was against crying. Sekki brings her to an Inn for dinner. Sekki introduces himself and his brother Koushou. They tell her to forget about what happened because the man who ran Seishuu over is called Shoukou, and he has people in high places to help him so there is no pinning him. He also seems to run the town. In Kokei, Youko tells the same story and Shoukou's name gets brought up again. Youko is very curious about this evil man. She goes to Enho about the situation but he tells her there is no point and she can't sentence him at all due to lack of proof. At Shoukou's place, Asano shows him how his gun works. Shoukou wants Asano to make more for him, but Asano doesn't know how. It is then that Shoukou reveals to Asano about how he "hunts" people for fun and the heaven's have never punished him. Asano still thinks he is in some kind of game and goes to town to find Suzu. In Gantou, Rakushin is parting ways with Shoukei. He gives her some money and wishes her luck. She is on her way to Kei to find a job. Meanwhile, Keiki visits Youko to get her conscent on some paperwork. Suzu, thinking it's Queen Kei who allows Shoukou to act like this, leaves the village angered. Asano appears and tries to talk her out of it but she runs off determined. On his way back to Shoukou's, Asano sees Keiki. He tells Shoukou about how Keiki was the one who brought him to this world. Shoukou now knows that the Queen of Kei is somewhere in the town. Elsewhere, Suzu buys special weapons that can kill kings and queens...''moreless - Ep 9Interlude
Rakushun describes to Shoukei a little more about how the world of The Twelve Kingdoms works. He also tells her about how he met Youko, and how they traveled together. Shoukei reveals to Rakushun everything that she's been through since her father was killed. Elsewhere, Asano is talking with Shoukou. He tells him about how he ended up in this world and what he and Suzu went through. Shoukou offers for Asano to come work for him.''moreless - Ep 8Chapter Eight
Youko is in her room thinking about what she heard Enho say when all of the sudden Auzura's voice echoes the room telling her that Keiki was in on her assanination the whole time. Back in Ryuu, Rakushun and Shoukei get set free after bribing the council with the jewels she took. They set off together in search of Youko. In Wa, Asano, Sheishuu and Suzu arrive and attempt to find a doctor to help Sheishuu's eyes. In Riyou, Rakushun and Shoukei stay at a inn for the night. That night Rakushun tells her how she had a responsibility to try to stop her father's evil ways. She breaks down and cries. The next day they take a wagon and continue their journey. In Kei, Suzu and the rest are taking a wagon aswell when all of the sudden they get attacked by bandits. A group of travelers save them and tell them they are gathering allies for their cause and leave. As they continue on, Seishuu tells Suzu how he hates people who cry for nothing. They come to an understanding and share a heart warming moment. In Kokei, Youko investigates a tavern. She meets a man named Koshou, and the boy from the other day called Seki. Thinking shes up to no good, they send her away. That night Suzu and the rest arrive in the same town Youko is in. Suzu leaves Asano with Seishuu while she goes to find a inn for them. Asano asks Seishuu if he hates him, but Seishuu doesn't understand Asano's lanquage. Asano has another flash back to the day he fell off the cliff and runs away. Worried about him, Seishuu goes walking in the market blind. A carriage comes and warns him to move but he trips and falls, the carriage procedes and runs him over. At that time Asano and Youko both see this happen at different locations. While Youko goes to help Seishuu, Asano jumps in the carriage and points his gun at the man. He says his names Shoukou and he dares Asano to try to kill him. Seishuu tells Youko to tell Suzu not to cry.. as he dies in her arms. Suzu comes up and sees whats happened and begins to cry.''moreless - Ep 7Chapter Seven
Enho teaches Youko about the measuring system they use here. He also gives her advice on being a good ruler. On their way to eat lunch they come across a boy named Seki, Enho used to teach him but he runs away from them. Back on the boat, Suzu saves Seishuu from falling off the ship once again. She tells him that shes going to get water for Asano. He once again thinks shes overreacting about him. She tells him he knows nothing of hardship, but he reveals to her his childhood story of how his parents died from a youma attack. Feeling bad for what she said she apolagizes, he gets a head ache and goes off to take a nap. Suzu informs Asano about his story and Asano now thinks that Seishuu must hate his kind and he's an enemy now. In Ryuu, Shoukei gets a room at a fancy inn. Turns out her roomate is Rakushun. That night guards come to search her room and find the jewels she stole from the queen. She tells the guards that Rakushun gave them to her and the guards take them both to jail. In the cell Rakushun explains to her how they'll be ok. Back on the boat, Asano goes to investigate Seishuu, he points his gun at him and realizes the boy can't see anymore.. Suzu comes in and comforts him.. Seishuu starts crying thinking he is gonna die. In Kei, Youko overhears Enho speaking about the illegal operations that accured within her kingdom...''moreless - Ep 6Chapter Six
Suzu is confused by Asano's gun due to the fact that she came from a time where that type of pistel didn't exist. He forces her out of the wagon and just then the travelers approach them and ask whats going on. Asano has a youma flashback to the day he fell off the cliff and freaks out; running back into the wagon. They explain to Suzu how they tried to explain to Asano about Queen Kei but he never understood. She goes to ask him if he wants to come with her to find queen Kei but he doesn't reply.''Later, Asano wanders off into town by himself. While Suzu is waiting for her boat to take off, she saves a young boy from falling off the side. He is less then grateful though. In Kei, all of Youko's officials are confused by her absence. At the same time in En, Enki explains to Rakushun how Youko has left the kingdom to think. Rakushun, worried about it, sets off to try to find her. The next day, Youko arrives to a town and saves a family from rampaging youma. The old man introduces himself as Enho, and he knows of her stature but ensures her that he will not reveal to anyone. She thanks him. Back in Kyou, Shoukei is trying on all of queen Kyou's jewerly. Angry that all of these things have been taken from her, she steals a bunch of jewels and takes off in the night with a youma to find the queen of Kei... And take her thrown from her. The next day queen Kyou is enraged and sends out a party to find Shoukei. In Sou, on Suzu's boat, Asano is being chased by some sailers. They discovered he had snuck on the ship. As they corner him he points his gun at them but Suzu stops him and offers to pay for hiss pass. The sailers don't buy it but the boy from earlier shows up and lets Asano use his pass. Later the boy introduces himself as Seishou. Suzu explains to him how her and Asano are Kaikayu. While Asano can't understand the lanquage, she can due to the fact that she was registered as a sennin. Seishou doesn't feel bad for Asano and runs off thinking Suzu is whining over nothing. Asano asks Suzu what he said and she reveals to him how the world hates their kind. Asano agrees and vows he will destroy this world. In Kei, Youko learns more about the village she is staying at...''moreless - Ep 5Chapter Five
Shoukei is being mistreated by the queen of Kyou, due once again to her father's previous ruling ways. Later, queen Kyou's kirin is trying to plead with the queen to be a bit nicer to Shoukei.. Queen Kyou doesn't seem to listen. Back in Sai, Suzu is being treated with nothing but kindness from the queen. Lady Riyou comes to meet with the queen about Suzu. Queen Sai tells her that she will nolonger mistreat Suzu and she is claiming her. Enraged, Riyou leaves. Queen Sai informs Suzu that she cannot stay at the palace. The queen gives her money and a immunity pass and sends her out on her own. Back in Kei, Youko is making the plans for Keiki to handle while she is away. She explains to him that this is something she needs to do; to go out on her own for awhile to learn about the kingdom. While Keiki is against it, he wishes her the best of luck. Kaiki sends Hankyo to watch after Youko. In Sou, Suzu is there trying to find out information on Queen Kei when she runs into a group of traveling performers who remember her from back when she first came to this world. They inform her about a kaikayu they took in named Asano. He doesn't speak their lanquage but he's very smart so he handles all their taxes. Suzu goes to the wagon to meet him. Surprised that he can understand what she saying he gets up and grabs her arm. He points a gun at her and tells her the game is finally over...''moreless - Ep 4Chapter Four
Youko is imformed of the depception in her ranks. She returns to the palace. Later Keiki comes to ask Youko what happened, Youko, still getting the feeling that Keiki dissaproves of her, lashes out at him again and sends him away. Her sword glows and shows her images from her child hood of always trying to be liked. Back to Shoukei, Gobo is giving her dinner. Shoukei is now in jail and tells Gobo how her parents were killed infront of her. Gobo tells her now she knows how it feels. The next morning the villages are about ready to execute Shoukei when all the sudden troops arrive saying the lord of Kei requests her. She goes with them. Back to Suzu, as she's falling one of Riyou's youma catches her in air. She decides she is fed up with this and will seek out queen Kei. She orders to youma to take her to the golden palace. Back in Kei, Youko meets with her officials. She's tired of being walked all over so she gives orders and tells no one to complain. Everyone seems unhappy with it. While Keiki is questioning her, Youko tells him that she wants to leave the palace. Back to Suzu, she wakes up in a palace and meets queen Sai. Back to Shoukei, she wakes up in a palace aswell. The lord of Kei comes to meet her and tells her she is being banned from the country due to everyone wanting her death. She sends her off with an escort. Her escort gets attacked by a group of Kochou on the way to Kyou palace but she manages to escape them. They arrive at Kyou palace and now the queen of Kyou has the task of caring for Shoukei.''moreless - Ep 3Chapter Three
Suzu is having a dream that she met queen Kei and that she made Riyou work for her instead. She wakes up only to be scolded by Riyou and given more chores. Back in Kei, Youko is meeting with her officials again. Everyone seems to be against Youko's decisions. Later one of Youko's servants teachers her the ranks and jobs of all her officials. Uikyou, one of Youko's officials, invites Youko to come to dinner. Youko excepts. One of Youko's decision staff pressures her into making a decision while Keiki is away. Youko tells him to do whatever he wants with the matter. Keiki arrives afterwords and tells her she was wrong for letting him decide something on his own. She lashes out at him saying that she's sick of him dissapproving her. She tells him to leave. Keiki is speechless. In Shoukei's story, she is singing a song when a little girl asks her to teach it to her. But she tells her she isn't suited to know it. At the same time Suzu breaks a vase and is punished by Riyou. She is sent to a mountain to pick a rare herb for her. While attempting it she falls off the cliff... Meanwhile Gobo is whipping Shoukei with a stick for not helping with dinner. The little girl from earilier hears Gobo say she was the queen's daughter and runs off to tell the entire village. They all drag her outside and begin kicking her. When they decide to kill her she pleads for them not too. She tells them she had no idea what her father was doing. Back in Kei Youko is having dinner over Uikyou's when all the sudden soldiers come busting in revealing that Uikyou was planning to kill Youko. Uikyou grabs her and holds a sword to her neck. Youko's hinman takes over and knocks her off, while she is distanced the soldiers shoot her with arrows killing her.''moreless - Ep 2Chapter Two
King En, Enki and Rakushun stop by the palace to see Youko. They assure her she's doing a good job. Later Youko meets with her decision staff. They debate a conspiracy that is going on withint the kingdoms. Afterwords Youko changes to go speak with King En. He discusses with her about how she needs to find aids she can count on. Elsewhere Rakushun and Enki talk about how Youko seems to be a little depressed. Youko tells King En that people bowing to her just doesn't seem right. King En reassures her that its the only way. Keiki interupts and escorts Youko to her next duty. Back to Suzu's story, Riyou returns home and tells Suzu how she met queen Kei and how she came from Japan aswell. This catches Suzu's attention. She now has a plan to escape Riyou and go see queen Kei. At the same time Shoukei is being yelled at by her adopted grandmother. Her name is Gobo and she finds out that Shoukei is the king's daughter. The king killed her son and now she is very angry with Shoukei. She claims it wasn't her fault. Gobo tells her she will get double the chores now. Back in Kei Youko is doing a ceremony when all the sudden she hears Auzura laughing at her. She throws the sword in anger. Keiki tells her she must believe in herself and listen to her officials. While in the armory, Youko tells the blacksmith to sell off all the weapons so they can make a home for refugees from Kou. Later while meeting with her officials, Youko makes some haste decisions that Keiki is against. No one seems to understand what has gotten into Youko.''moreless - Ep 1A Great Distance In The Wind, The Sky At Dawn - Chapter One
The episode opens with a girl named Suzu being escorted to a new family to live with. A storm begins and Suzu slips down a hill into a raging river.. When she awoke she was in the world of the Twelve Kingdoms. Not being able to understand the lanquage.. She was forced into slavery. One day while performing a show for a high ranking woman.. She noticed this woman spoke her lanquage. She begged her to take her with her and that she would do anything. The woman's name was Riyou and she accepted her but with a evil look on her face. Riyou takes her to palace and makes her an official senin, which means she cannot age and will be able to speak the lanquage. She puts her to work and it is then that Suzu realizes she made a poor choice by coming here. In a different kingdom we meet a girl who is the daughter of a king. Her name was Shoukei. Her father has been killing people for petty reasons. Enraged, the lord of Kei attacked the palace and killed Shoukei's mother and father right before her eyes. He also slays the kings kirin. He makes Shoukei become a normal person and to go live with a family in the village. Shoukei would rather die then live that life.. But they deny her death. She is then forced to live as a commoner. Back to Suzu, Riyou is leaving a trip. She gives extra chores to Suzu. Suzu is deeply depressed that she must get picked on like this. Hearing about how the kirin of Tai has been found and came from Japan.. Suzu goes to see Taiki, only to be turned away. Back to the present day. Youko is having nightmares of Azuru again. He shows her an image of Asano with a gun looking unstable. Auzuru tells her that she abandened him. She wakes up screaming. She informs Keiki that her sword is showing her illusions again. They deside to give her a new sheeth. Youko then has to go before her people as the queen of Kei. She seems overwhelmed with it.''moreless

Enki gives us a lesson on The Twelve Kingdoms. He goes over all 12 kingdoms and gives information on each ruler and kirin. Among these kingdoms he gives special attention to Kei, En and Kou seeing how these are the kingdoms the viewers are most familiar with so far. He also tells the story of Tai, and the mystery of what happened to Taiki and king Tai. In addition he discusses all the major events that happened in this last book.''moreless - Ep 6Final Chapter
The episode opens back in Japan. Sugimoto is talking to Kaname in a library. Later that night his brother, Suguru, sees Sugimoto and confirms with her about the strange things that happen around Kaname. Back to Youka's story, Gyousou is disturbed at the fact that Taiki seems disappointed in him somehow ever since he became a king. Youka tries to re assure Taiki that Gyousou will be a good king. In Japan, Kaname is being hassled by his art teacher. Back to Youka's story, Taiki is being questioned by Gyousou. He wonders why Taiki disapproves of him. Taiki won't speak of it. As Taiki leaves the room he finds Keiki. Keiki came to congratulate him but Taiki tells him the story of how he did not receive a revelation when he chose the king. Keiki says its best if he leaves. Taiki begins to cry. The next day Gyousou and Taiki get summoned to see Keiki. He sits in a room with King En and Enki. King En says he must show respect and bow, Taiki tries but for some reason he can't bow. Everyone thinks he is being disrespectful, Taiki keeps trying. King En gets up and pushes on Taiki's head commanding him to bow. Enki pushes King En out of the way and tells him to take it easy on him. They reveal to Taiki that it was all a test to show him that a kirin cannot bow to just anyone. They can only bow to the rightful king. Releaved.. Taiki looks up at Gyousou. Turns out Taiki's fear of Gyousou in the beginning was actually the revelation he needed to feel, he just didn't know it. Taiki is so happy that he didn't make a mistake. Now that Youka's story is over. Youko and Keiki leave to complete Youko's last stage in becoming a queen. In Japan, the art teacher that hassled Kaname has been killed in a car crash. That night Sugimoto goes to talk to Kaname, he says he doesn't know what happened to the teacher. Knowing that this is more of the "strange events" that seems to happen around him she asks him why he left the Twelve Kingdoms. He doesn't remember.. But he feels like he broke a promise and that he forgot something very important... And it can never be undone.

Lord Gyousou and Risai take Taiki with them on sugu hunt. They find a place to camp for the night and Taiki explains to Gyousou that he is like fire, while he brings good things, too much of it can be a bad thing. He tells Taiki that he has nothing to worry about. They find footprints at a cave and decide to go investigate Taiki senses something just as Risai gets grabbed down by something. Sanshi appears to stop Taiki from following but he slips under her and runs down the tunnel. Gyousou follows as they both reach the end. A giant youma called a toutesou appears and attacks Gyousou knocking him out. Taiki is forced to face it alone. He does the chant that Keiki taught him to tame sherei and after a well fought challenge the sherei submits to him. They return to the palace. Everyone is amazed of Taiki's power to tame the Toutetsou. The next morning Taiki goes to visit Risai to see how she's feeling. Gyousou appears and tells Taiki it is his time to leave. Taiki is sad as they say goodbye. That night Taiki overhears the nyosen talking about how they wish Gyousou was the king. Feeling bad that he didn't choose him.. Taiki goes running out into the night the find him. Sanshi and his new sherei try to stop him but Taiki finally transforms and flys past them. He arrives before Gyousou and bows to him saying to never desert his post. During this he feels it is wrong and thinks he is making a mistake. Gyousou accepts.''moreless - Ep 4Chapter Four
Taiki continues his sherei training, but has no luck. That night Keiki apologizes to Lady Gyokuyou about not being able to help Taiki out. The next morning it is time for Keiki to leave, Taiki thanks him and Keiki says the day he chooses a ruler he will be the first one to congradulate him. Soon after the ceremony for choosing a ruler began. But Taiki could not sense the revelation from anyone. That night Youka tells Taiki that when the person is not the chosen one, to simply say "be well until the next time." The next morning Taiki sees more possibly canidates, but none seem to be it. A tall man with crimson red eyes comes to see if he has the revelation.. Taiki feels scared of his presence and requests to leave. As he is walking with Youka he sees a youma resembling a dog. The owner comes out and introduces herself as Risai. Taiki enjoys her kindness. Just then Goson appears and threatens Youka to make Taiki bow down before him so he can become king, but the tall man with the red eyes appears and knocks Goson out. He introduces himself as Lord Gyousou and that he will protect Taiki at all costs. Scared still, Taiki runs off. The next day Taiki comes back to see Risai, they end up going back to see Lord Gyousou. He aplogizes if he made Taiki scared and shows him his sugu youma. Taiki likes it alot. Later Taiki tells Risai that Gyousou's ambition was what scared him.''moreless - Ep 3Chapter Three
Youka is still telling her story of Taiki to Keiki and Youko. As Goson and his men are kidnapping Taiki, Sanshi tried to help but gets cut, then Lord Shinkun appears and reveals to them how he is a god. The men stop and bow, Youka comes to take Taiki back while Shinkun warns them never to return. The next day Youka tells Taiki the time to choose a ruler is coming, and that he will recognize the ruler by a special revelation they give off to him. As the chamber maids and Sanshi are taking Taiki for a walk a girl whom is on the estate grabs his hand and tells him she is just like him, Sanshi appears and hits the girl. Later she reveals that she came from Japan too and wanted Taiki's help to get back home.. The council commands she stay away from Taiki and bans her from the palace. Realizing Taiki needs some sherei to help protect him.. They bring in Keiki to help teach him how. He asks Keiki how to transform.. Keiki has no real way to describe it and he makes Taiki feel bad. Taiki runs off crying. Keiki gets scolded by Lady Gyokuyou and sends him to find Taiki. He finds him and sits down and talks with him. Taiki tells him about the girl who wanted to talk to him, and how he did nothing for her. Kaiki helps cheer Taiki up by transforming for him. Taiki is amazed. Later Keiki helps teach Taiki how to tame youma to be his sherei.''moreless - Ep 2Chapter Two
Youka continues her story of Taiki: Taiki wakes up in his new bedroom. He is greeted by Sanshi. Youka tells him how happy she is that he's back, she tells him about his past and how he is a kirin. The next day when Taiki woke up Sanshi bathes him. When he goes to eat he doesn't understand why he must eat alone. Youka explains to him that kirin eat alone.. But Taiki insists that everyone comes to eat so no food is wasted. Afterwords, Youka takes him to a chamber that has a giant replica of The Twelve Kingdoms so Taiki can be a little more familiar with where he is. That night Sanshi and Taiki play hide and seek games with each other. While Taiki is bathing in a stream he meets a man named Kenro Shinkun, he helps explain to Taiki that he will be able to transform soon enough. As he leaves they see what appears to be his youma. Back in the palace Youka is explaining to Taiki not to worry about transforming and that it will occur naturally on its own eventually. The next day Taiki and Sanshi take a trip to the doors of the mountain. As he is left alone at the summit a rope shoots up and grasps his arm and pulls him down. The man who did it is named Goson. The episode opens with a little boy out in the cold snow looking in the window. His mother and grandmother are arguing over how he is spoiled and misbehaves. He trips and all the sudden it is one year later.. He is in a different part of town.. The location is his grandmothers funeral. Flash forward to present day Japan.. The same boy, now older is named Kaname Takasato. He is in art class having strange flashbacks of the incident. We see Sugimoto, having already met Takasato, she goes up and talks to him. She keeps asking him why he was spirited away to The Twelve Kingdoms. Takasato doesn't want to talk about it. Back in Kei, we see Youko and Keiki flying to Mount Hou to see an old friend of Keiki's. When they arrive Keiki introduces Youko to Youka. Youka tells Youko about the special raboku tree here that gives life to kirin. Taiki, the missing kirin of Tai is brought up and Keiki tells about how his nyokai, Sanshi was born. As she was guarding the "egg" Taiki was in.. A shoku occurred and sent the unborn Taiki into Japan. This made Taiki's birth to take place in Japan.. As a normal person. Back to current day Japan, Kaname's younger brother, Suguru, is being hassled by seniors about how people who hang out his brother end up being killed or hurt. Sugimoto appears and asks him about his brother. He explains to her how he got spirited away and ever since he came back strange things seem to happen around him. Back in Youka's story, 10 years have passed since the shoku, but finally Lady Gyokuyou found that Taiki was in Japan. She opened a portal and allowed Sanshi to stick her hand in to grab Taiki. This was what happened when Taiki disappeared from his home in Japan for a year. After Taiki got pulled into The Twelve Kingdoms, he was confused. But Sanshi couldn't have been more happy.''moreless

Youko and Rakushun are shown in Rakushun's house discussing whats all happened. Rakushun goes over with Youko about how the Twelve Kingdoms have 12 rulers.. And what exactly a kirin and ruler is. Youko tells him about how she got transported here, and how shes had such a difficult time here. They go through numerous flashbacks.. And give information on all characters, including Keiki, Enki, Sugimoto, Asano, King En, King Kou, Kourin and others.. Youko tells Rakushun how her friend Asano is still missing and how she is worried about him. Youko tells Rakushun she has to go and leaves him a special bird.. This bird can "record" voices and play them back to whomever you send it too. As Rakushun is holding the bird it replays Youko's message to him.. Which states that she is so glad she met him.. How she never would have made as far as she did without him.. And how she promises to make a great kingdom.''moreless - Ep 13Final Chapter
King En yells to King Kou to give it up. Before Kou can speak Kourin appears. Everyone realize she has shitzudo due to King Kou. Enraged King Kou charges at Youko with his sword but Kourin stands in the way and gets stabbed instead.. Kourin falls and dies. Realizing what he's done King Kou wonders what will happen to him now and screams. Later at the palace Youko agrees to save Keiki. King En sets up the attack for the next morning. Before she goes to bed she talks outside with Rakushun. He tells her how much he wants her to become queen. Still doubting herself, Rakushun turns into his human form again and tells her that she was chosen for a reason and to trust Keiki's decision. The next morning Youko, Sugimoto, King En and his army are ready to set off. They arrive at the palace of Kei and King En tells Youko to find Keiki while he and his troops battle the defenses. Youko finds the dungeon where Keiki is being held, she realizes he has a spell on him and uses her magic ball from her sword to heal him. He tells her how glad he is that she is safe.. And bows to her and officially announces her as the Queen of Kei. Guards enter the room and tell her she is a fake, Youko stands up for herself and says the only reason the kirin is with her is because she is the real queen. King En appears behind them and says its the truth.. The men drop and bow. 1 month later.. Youko is shown on her throne mourning the loss of the dead. Sugimoto congradulates her on a job well done. Later, Keiki is getting ready to send Sugimoto back to her world.. Youko tells her she will find Asano and send him back as soon as she can. Sugimoto tells her she will live a happy life for her.. After a flash Sugimoto wakes up back on the same dock she was first transported from back in Japan. She visits Youko's mother and tells her what has happened. At school she overhears people talking about a boy who dissapeared for years and then re appeared all the sudden one day.. Sugimoto finds the boy out on the school field painting, he introduces himself as Kaname Takasato..''moreless - Ep 12Chapter Twelve
Youko and Rakushun are shown outside their room talking about how Youko will become queen and save Keiki. Later on Youko looks into her sword and it shows her visions of how the last ruler of Kei failed to be a good queen and how it saddended Keiki.. Youko is afraid she will make the same mistake. Back in the village Heki explains to Sugimoto how he was once like her.. And how she should change her ways and soon. Sugimoto ignores him and runs off only to find King Kou.. He tells her that Youko must still be killed, Sugimoto agrees. Back at the palace Enki explains to Rakushun and Youko how what King Kou is doing is against the wills of the heavens and can't be allowed. Youko goes to town and sees visions in her sword of Sugimoto arguing with Heki. At the palace, King Kou goes to meet King En.. King Kou argues that Youko is a fake queen and King En tells him he knows about how he set up the false queen of Kei and kidnapped Keiki. King Kou denies it and leaves. Back in the town Heki is telling Sugimoto how he came to the Twelve Kingdoms through a riot in Japan. Sugimoto claims she is different from him and stabs his leg with her sword. Shes runs out and sees Youko, she immeditley charges at her and says how she must kill her. Youko draws her sword and sees a image of Asano falling off the cliff.. Sugimoto says that the sword knows the truth aswell.. She isn't fit to rule. Youko runs away and Heki comes and tells Sugimoto to stop. In Kou, Kourin is shown getting out of bed.. In pain. Back in En Youko is crying under a tree seeing visions of how Auzura told her she was a monster. Youko thinks she is a evil person.. But just then Jyouyuu comes out of her and tells her he has been with her the whole time.. And tells her he knows she is worthy of the thrown. As he is going back in her she tells him she needs him to do something first. Sugimoto appears and the two engage battle once again. Youko without her hinman now is having a hard time with Sugimoto. King En, Enki and Rakushun arrive and watch helplessly. Youko breaks Sugimoto's sword but drops her own.. Sugimoto picks it up and tries stabbing Youko with it. It won't work so Sugimoto grabs a knife. Just then King Kou appears and tells Sugimoto to kill her. Sugimoto charges and knocks the sword out of her hand. Just then the sword shows everyone visions of how King Kou lied to Sugimoto and mis-ordered his kirin. Enraged King En tells him he must be dealt with. Sugimoto questions King Kou and now distrusts him. Falling to her knees she hugs Youko and says she wants to go home.''moreless - Ep 11Chapter Eleven
King En's servant explains to Youko and Rakushun how King En was once a the son of a king back when he was a taika. His father, and the entire kingdom was destroyed by a rival group. With his father gone.. He became the leader of the group. They found a new land to live in but war still seemed to follow them. The servant also tells them how Enki was found by his nyokai. He was brought back to the Twelve Kingdoms and raised. He discovered he was a kirin and knew he had to choose a king for En. In a rage of frustration he created a shoku and came to the land that the soon to be King En was at. They met each other and King En wanted to him to leave so he wouldn't be harmed by the battle about to begin. Enki decided that he was the one.. And saved him from death in the battle. He bowed to him and made him the king. They came back to the Twelve Kingdoms and that is how King En came to be the ruler of En.''moreless - Ep 10Chapter Ten
As King En is introducing himself to Youko, they are attacked by a second force of youma. Youko takes out the leader of the pack and the rest withdrawal. King En then takes Youko to his personal inn. She tells him her story and how she doesn't think she is a queen. King En explains to her how her sword creates illusions and unless she learns to conquer it, it will continue to haunt her. Just then Enki walks in, Youko is shocked and has realized she has seen this boy before. King En tells Youko to come to his palace with him. She agrees. She goes to get Rakushun but he is hesitant to go with her now that shes going to be a queen.. Finally she talks him into knowing that nothing has changed. They arrive at the palace just before night hits. Youko enjoys the view of the sea from the top of the palace. King En shows them around and after Youko takes a bath she comes out to find Rakushun.. As a human. Finding him attractive, Youko feels embarassed after the way she treated him as a rat. They go to meet with King En. Enki describes to Youko and Rakushun how Keiki is being held against his will with a fake queen of Kei. The plead with her to rescue Keiki and take her thrown of Kei. Back in the town Heki is explaining to Sugimoto about how a kirin chooses the ruler for a kingdom. Sugimoto is angry and says she was supposed to be chosen for queen.. Heki disagrees and tells her that a true ruler would never say such a thing. Back in the palace King En tells Youko he believes in her and thinks she can become a queen. As they are walking back to their room, Youko seems confused on what she really wants to do. One of King En's servants says he will tell Youko about King En and Enki's story about how they are both taikas...''moreless - Ep 9Chapter Nine
The episode opens in En. We see Youko getting off the ship.. As she's looking around she hears a familiar voice call her name.. It's Rakushun. He tells her he is glad she made it and how he has been waiting for her. He tries convincing her that the Kochou inncindent was his fault.. She cried and hugs him. Elsewhere in town Sugimoto is shown looking around, she runs into a group of men who know she is a kaikayu, and they take her to the government office. There she meets with a woman, it turns out this place helps kaikayu in En get a home. Enki walks in and recognizes her and decides to help her out. Youko and Rakushun check into a inn for the night. Youko tells Rakushun more about Keiki and how he brought her there. The next day Youko and Rakushun come across a school.. There they meet the teacher named Heki, he tells them he too is a kaikayu. He tells Youko about Reboku trees and how babies are born from them. While going in depth about her story of Keiki they realize that Youko was chosen to be the queen of Kei.. They bow to her. Heki tells them they must go visit the king of En, and that he will know how to handle this. The next morning Youko and Rakushun leave to find the king. Sugimoto arrives at the school with a letter from Enki. It reveals that Sugimoto can stay there. Heki tells her how Youko is going to be the queen of Kei. Sugimoto is enraged. While in town Youko and Rakushun are attacked by a group of youma.. Youko is having difficulty with them until a man with a sword appears and slays them with ease. He reveals himself to be King En.''moreless - Ep 8Chapter Eight
Sugimoto is shown talking to King Kou.. Turns out he wants to her service once again. He gives her a sword and tells Kourin to place her hinman on her again. This changes Sugimoto's appearance making her look different. As she is ready to set out she realizes Kourin has fallen ill.. She runs out of the room. Sugimoto arrives at the dock where Youko is and she goes on the same ship as Youko will be traveling on. As the ship takes off she realizes Youko isn't on it. Youko purposely stayed behind because she didn't wanna involve the nice family who helped her anylonger. She goes on a smaller boat that will catch up with ship later. While on the ship Sugimoto meets a hanjyuu who is traveling to En so he can live freely. Youko catches up with the ship and boards it. She ends up standing in the same area with Sugimoto but she doesn't reconigze her due to her hinman. Just then a group of men are harassing the hanjyuu, commanding him to turn back into his human form. Just as they are about to hit him Sugimoto and Youko step in. Still not knowing its Sugimoto they tell the men to leave him alone and that he's with them. Later down below he thanks the both of them. Youko tells them how she used to be a coward. The disguised Sugimoto leaves whispering its too late to realize that now. A group of flying youma attack the boat and end up killing the hanjyuu boy. Just as Youko is about to challenge them Sugimoto reveals herself to Youko. They engage blades once again and Sugimoto asks Youko what happened to Asano and that Youko probably left him for dead. As their fighting the youma interfere and attack everyone. A giant youma comes out of the sea and kills all the other youma.. Including the hinman inside Sugimoto. Sugimoto can no longer understand the lanquage or fight due to her hinman being destroyed. Also her appearance has changed back to normal. She sees that the hanjyuu boy is now dead. Sugimoto faints. When she awakes Youko is gone and the boat has arrived in En.''moreless - Ep 7Chapter Seven
The group of Kochou attack and Youko kills them. Rakushun gets trampled by the villagers and knocked out during the action. The guards come running out and Youko thinks about killing Rakushun before she leaves so he won't turn her in.. But she runs away instead because she is afraid the guards will give her a hard time for being a kaikyaku. Back in the woods Auzaru appears and asks her why she didn't kill Rakushun.. She replies saying he was her friend. He puts a mask of Rakushun on and says he will turn her in. He tells her that she cares about nothing and she only cares about herself. She finally stands up to him and tells him that she will do whatever she wants and he doesn't control her. She is fed up with him and approaches him with her sword. She tells him she is glad she didn't kill Rakushun. He calls her a fool and she slashes him with the sword as he falls lifelessly into a bush.. She has finally freed herself from Azura. She goes back into town to find Rakushun but no one seems to know where he is. She runs into a group of traveling performers.. Who just happen to be the same people that her and Asano tried to rob for food a couple days ago. They invite her to come with them and they camp in the woods that night. She finds out that she must take a boat to get to En. They agree if she'll protect them on the way, that they'll take her to the dock. She agrees. Back in Kou, Sugimoto is still at her estate complaining about wanting to go back to King Kou's castle. Enki appears and asks her if she is Youko, he finds out she is the wrong person. He leaves but Sugimoto is even more enraged with Youko now. Meanwhile Youko learns from this traveling family that she can finally trust someone. She is finally at ease. That night she looks into her sword and sees reflections of her parents in her room. She wonders if they still love her. They finally arrive at the docks and Youko realizes there is guards everywhere looking for the missing kaikyaku...''moreless - Ep 6Chapter Six
In Kou, King Kou is yelling at Kourin for not allowing Sugimoto to finish off Youko. King Kou sends Sugimoto off to a house out in a field where he will allow her to live. Back in the forest Youko awakes in a house.. She is greated by what seems to be a giant talking rat.. His name is Rakushun and he tried to get her to eat. He finally gets her to eat some peaches. When he leaves to go get some water, Auzaru appears and tells her not to trust the rat. Rakushun comes back in. Youko asks him if he knows Keiki, but Rakushun doesn't know him. Just then a officer comes to the door and Youko hides. He tells Rakushun how their looking for a man and woman (Asano and Youko) and that theres a reward. He tells them he knows nothing of it. Youko asks him why shes doing this and he says because he wants to help her. Later that night Rakushun tells Youko about the twelve kingdoms and how it was created. That night when Youko is alone in her room, Auzura appears and tells her the rat will betray her. The next morning Rakushun and Youko leave for En, he believes that in En Youko can live a normal life where the people don't have kaikayu. The next morning they leave and on the way Rakushun tells Youko about all his schooling and she learns that he's very smart. In Kou Sugimoto arrives at her new estate King Kou gave her to live. She doesn't want it though and wants to go back to the castle. The guards leave her there. Youko and Sugimoto stay at a inn that night and discuss how praying doesn't change anything and there is no god in The Twelve Kingdoms. As their entering the gates of the next town.. A group of Kochou appear in the sky and begin to swoop down.. As the villagers run for their life Youko laughs and grabs her sword..''moreless - Ep 5Chapter Five
Kourin tells Sugimoto how it was her who saved her when she first arrived in this land. She tells her that there is someone that needs her help and to come with her. Sugimoto agrees gladly thinking that her time has finally come and she is the chosen one. Asano is still comforting Youko as Sugimoto walks up to get her bag. She tells them that she's going on alone and that Youko is the reason the youma have been attacking. Asano tries to stop her but its no good. Youko and Asano are now alone. They find a strange glowing tree and spend the night under it. The next morning they go to town to try to get some food but no one is willing to hire them. That night while in the woods Asano goes to try to find that tree again while Youko stays behind. Auzura appears before her again and shows her visions of her teacher and mother talking badly about her. He puts on a mask of Asano and mocks him saying that he is only using Youko for her abilities. Auzaru tells Youko to kill Asano, but just then the real Asano appears and Auzura dissapears.. Youko tells Asano about him but Asano has no idea what she means; just then a youma attacks them but Youko slays it. Asano attempts to eat it but its no good. They agree that they must rob someone in order for them to survive. They go downhill where they see a woman.. Just as they are about to attack them Youko realizes its the same little girl as the day before when she got separated. The mother asks them if they would like ot join them for lunch but Youko tells her to stay away from them because she doesn't want to get betrayed again. Asano doesn't understand. Back in the woods Asano is trying to talk some sense into Youko. He reveals to her that he wanted to go with Sugimoto but she wouldn't let him.. Youko is heartbroken. Just then a pack of Kiki attack them.. As Youko is killing them one sneaks by and attacks Asano.. He falls off the cliff into a river. Youko, enranged, kills the youma leading the Kiki. Youko faints. When she wakes up she sees Kourin.. She thinks its Keiki, but Sugimoto appears and tells her its Kourin. She tells her that she has been assigned to kill her and when Youko tells her they are friends Sugimoto says she isn't her friend and she's hated her ever since the beginning. She attacks and knocks the sword out of her hand and stabs her hand. Kourin tells her to stop and that the beasts will finish her off. They leave. Youko gets up and looks for Asano but realizes he is long gone.. She wanders off to the road and falls. Auzura appears and tells her she is going to die, then leaves. Just then a figure hovers above her..''moreless - Ep 4Chapter Four
Auzaru tells Youko that nobody cares about her, and how nothing would change if she were to die. He shows her a collection of masks.. With the faces of everyone in her life. He puts them on one by one mimicking the voices of Sugimoto and Asano.. Making Youko feel worthless. She says she doesn't believe him and he tells her to beware of Takki.. For she isn't who Youko thinks she is. Just then he dissapears and Youko finds herself inside a tent. She comes outside and finds Takki and the rest. They've all been looking for her. Later that night at a inn Takki tells Youko that the next morning Asano should stay behind in the room while they go to meet her mother.. That way less attention would get brought to them. Youko agrees. In the morning Asano watches out the window as the 3 girls leave.. He argues with himself about why Sugimoto is being so shy around him. Outside his room a old man heres him talking and walks in.. He understands what Asano is saying. Meanwhile in town, the girls arrive at the inn that Takki's mother owns. Youko and Sugimoto eat lunch while Takki goes to talk to her mother. Meanwhile in the forest outside of town, King Kou is still nagging Kourin to kill the kaikyaku.. Kourin, displeased, tells her hinman to summon a youma. Back in town Youko goes to find Takki and overhears her in a room talking to her mother about how they are going to sell the girls as prostitutes. Youko enraged runs back to find Sugimoto only to find her being hassled by 3 men. She grabs the sword and tells them they are not going to work here. Takki walks in and tells Youko to stop. Youko tells her to stay away from them and then they run away outside. Takki yells out for everyone to catch them and as their being chased a youma appears in town and attacks Youko. Takki is in the way and get hit by the beast but Youko's hinman takes over and enables her to slay the monster. As they flea the scene they find Asano with the old man named Saizu. They go down a canal on a boat and Saizu reveals to them that he too is a kaikyaku stuck in this world. Later that night they stay at Saizu's house. He tells them how he got transported to The Twelve Kingdoms somehow around the time of World War II. Youko and Sugimoto pounder if they have really been seeing Keiki.. or if it was just there imagination; just then Saizu gets angry and breaks down about not being able to find a way home. To top it off he finds out that Youko can speak the lanquange so easily while he has no idea what the people are saying still. They then go to bed, but Saizu has a suspicious look on his face.. The next morning Youko wakes up and heres some guards hassling Asano. She goes out to see what is going on and sees Sugimoto trying to help him. She tells them to release Asano and the guards tell her Saizu turned them in for money. She grabs her sword and knocks both guards out. Youko, Sugimoto and Asano make a run for the woods. That night in the woods.. All 3 feeled betrayed and hopeless. Sugimoto yells at Youko for trusting Takki and walks away. Youko, upset, huddles with Asano and falls asleep. When she wakes up, she can hear Asano and Sugimoto fooling around in the bushes. Auzura appears and shows her visions of her classmates talking about how they hate her. He asks her if she wants to go back home.. She says yes, but only replies with telling her that nobody is waiting for her. She calls him a liar and he laughs while dissapearing. Just then Youko looks at her sword and seems to be considering suicide.. Asano knocks the sword out of her hand and tells her not to do it. Sugimoto, jealous, walks away in anger. She comes to a opening in the woods and sees the mysterious woman, Kourin on a rock looking at her.''moreless - Ep 3Chapter Three
The chase continues.. The youma chasing them are a pack of Kiki. They attack the man stearing and the wagons tips over. Youko, Sugimoto and Asano are still tied up. One of the guards unties them and tells them to run for it, just as he gets killed, but before the others can run they are surrounded. The hinman takes Youko over once again and makes her kill the Kiki. In a palace near by we see the King of Kou and the mysterious figure from before.. It is a woman named Kourin. King Kou tells her that the kaikyaku are a bad omen to the land and that she must use her shirei to kill them.. Kourin is depressed about this. The next morning Youko and the others are looking for food and they come across a town. They break into a house and look around. A woman named Takki arrives and calls them theives. Sugimoto grabs her from behind and tells Youko to kill her.. Youko can't do it and breaks down in tears.. Takki starts to feel pity for them and offers them to stay the night. During the middle of the night Sugimoto wakes up and tries to escape but her leg was injured earlier with the Kiki. Youko uses her magic ball from her sword to heal her leg. Asano is amazed by it and tells them that they should just stay there for the night. The next morning all four of them head off to a town where Takki is going to get them a job at her mother's inn. During their travel they stop to see a play on the life of the former ruler of Kei. Upon leaving a little girl comes up to Youko and shows her how she can make candy toys. During this Youko gets seperated from the rest. Just then Youko sees visions of her parents telling her how bad of a child she is.. A man appears before her, it's the same strange man she saw in her dreams.. His name is Auzaru and he tells Youko if she was dead there would be no more suffering...''moreless - Ep 2Chapter Two
The episode opens right where the first episode left off. Youko is flying with Kaiko and just as she is giving her the situation they are attacked by a youma and Youko falls. Elsewhere Sugimoto is with Keiki's youma, Jyuusaku, and they too are attacked. Sugimoto falls but is saved by a group of youma. Youko awakes on a beach only to find that she isn't in Japan anymore. She looks over a sea that has several whirlpools within it. Youko then discovers she has a magic ball on her sword that allows her to heal wounds. While searching the landscape Youko comes across a small town. She goes around asking if anyone knows Keiki. Only to get attacked by the townsfolk. Her hinman takes over and tries to fight the villagers but there is just too many. She gets tied up and taken to a prison. In her cell she finds Sugimoto, who has also been caught. Sugimoto reveals to Youko that her face and hair are changing since she arrived in this world. They get taken to meet with a council that tells them that are what their people call Kaikyaku. Sugimoto realizes that for some strange reason only Youko can understand and speak the language in this land. Meanwhile in a different part of the forest Asano is being led by another one of Keiki's youma. They hear a noise and go to investigate. Keiki and Hankyo are attacked by opposing youma and Keiki is put under a strange spell by what would appear to be a unicorn. Just then Kieki also turns into a strange unicorn creature. Asano sees this and runs. The council tells Youko and Sugimoto that they will be taken to a office to have their fate decided. They are tied and and put in a wagon with guards. During the trip they are stopped and the guards find Asano. He is tied and put with them. He tells them how he saw what happened to Keiki. But just then they see a figure out in the woods and a group of youma come out of the woods and begin to chase the wagon...''moreless - Ep 1Shadow Of The Moon, The Sea Of Shadow - Chapter One
