  • Simply yet another brilliant episode.

Youko decides to visit King En since she's still unsure of how to handle a felon such as Shoukou. Meanwhile, she set the general of the royal army in order to deliver a message to the provincial lord of kei, who's held with the responsibility of maintaining the country. However, when the general confronts him, Gekkei refuses to accept the message directed to the ruler of a country, for he's a mere provincial lord. Seishin tries convincing him to take on the role of ruler of Hou, and even delivers to him a message from Shoukei, apologizing and supporting Gekkei. After a long talk, and the fact that no provincial lord can convince a ruler to influence his or her decision, since Shoukei is heading to Kyou to accept her punishment of stealing jewelry, he accepts the throne and requests the Queen Kyou be merciful to Shoukei.

When I think back to the beginning, all the way to the end of this episode, it makes me wonder what I'm watching. Usually when I say this, I say it in a bad way, but this is the complete opposite. Most of the episode consists of Seishin trying to convince Gekkei to take on the throne in several deep conversations. Literally, all of this is absorbed within your head and just passes by. It's just so good. And seeing the characters present their developed personalities, especially Shoukei, who decides to fly towards Kyou and accept her punishment. Though a major surprise was Gekkei himself. From his past actions, it can only be assumed that he's the very loyal and honourable type, but his actions are actually driven by internal conflicts within, like his reason for murdering King Hou.moreless
