The ship was said to have landed near Willoughby, named after the town in the original Twilight Zone episode, "A Stop at Willoughby."
The beam lifting to car toward the flying saucer was based on the beam used to abduct scientists in an airplane in "This Island Earth."

The town of Beaumont was named after Charles Beaumont, who wrote 21 episodes of the original Twilight Zone series.
The character "Faith" was named after Faith Domergue, the female lead of "This Island Earth."
The character "H.G. Orson" was named after writer Herbert George (H.G.) Wells and actor/director George Orson Welles, both famously involved with "The War of the Worlds."
