    • Carlson's watch stopping was taken from the 1953 movie War of the Worlds where all watches in the vicinity of the landed meteorite stopped.

    • The ship was said to have landed near Willoughby, named after the town in the original Twilight Zone episode, "A Stop at Willoughby."

    • The beam lifting to car toward the flying saucer was based on the beam used to abduct scientists in an airplane in "This Island Earth."

    • Town Name: Beaumont.
      The town of Beaumont was named after Charles Beaumont, who wrote 21 episodes of the original Twilight Zone series.
