(Closing Narration)
Narrator: And bending down beside the golden bars, murmur, a little sadly, how love fled and paste upon the mountains overhead and hid her face among a crowd of stars. A variation on William Butler Yeats to all those who have loved and lost, and loved again, on earth or in... the Twilight Zone.
Gary Cole (Dan) appears in another Twilight Zone project, the "Rod Serling's Lost Classics" TV-movie. He plays James in the first segment called "The Theater."
This episode featured no opening narration.
"Her Pilgrim Soul" was later used as a basis for part of a stage musical, "Weird Romance," sub-titled "Two One Act Musicals of Speculative Fiction", music by Alan Menken, book by Alan Brennert himself, lyrics and additional book by David Spencer. The first act is based on "The Girl Who was Plugged In," by James Tiptree, Jr. (pseudonym for Alice Sheldon); the second is was based on "Her Pilgrim Soul." Although each individual act retained its discrete story title, the musical itself has only been produced as "Weird Romance."
This episode originally ran about 40 minutes (excluding commercials) - in syndication it is broken up into a two-part 30 minute episode.
