  • One of the better episodes

Way back in 1989 I used to record the new Twilight Zone episodes every Saturday on the family VCR. Amazingly enough, this is the only surviving episode I still have on VCR tape. I used to watch it a couple of times a month. I thought the story was appropriately slow starting. But it was the haunting music that drew me. The sad guitar strings and ghostly storyline stayed with me for years.moreless
  • Wife cheats on husband and both receive capital punishment.

I started watching this and slowly started to fall asleep, not because it is a bad episode, but because it is a not very enterteining one. Most of the time we are shown our main character talking about the whole drama around his wife cheating on him. Only in the last minutes we get some action when the angry husband decides to go and kill his wife's lover but sadly, his wife tries to protect her lover and ends up being shot twice. I think this is the first time i see blood in the Twilight Zone, all the other episodees where blood is needed, we don't see it.moreless

  • TRIVIA (0)

  • QUOTES (4)

    • (Opening Narration)
Narrator: The man behind the wheel is Jack Haines, a long-haul trucker. On any other night, he'd be on the lookout for a good time, but that's changed. A lot has changed for Jack because of one overheard telephone conversation. He learned that tonight his wife is meeting another man here at the Mustang Bar, his name unknown. The only thing Jack Haines knows for certain is that tonight, there's going to be murder at the Mustang, a little place ten miles from town and deep in the heart of the Twilight Zone.

    • Jack: Go to Hell.
Blind Man: Been there - not interested. But you're halfway there.

    • (after Jack has a vision)
Blind Man: Little thing I forgot to mention. The songs I sing got a real mean chorus.

    • (Closing Narration)
Narrator: No comment necessary, except to note the necessity of caution when the hands show midnight in the dark hour of the human soul. A song of warning and hope written in somber red and copyrighted by the Twilight Zone.
