Late in the episode the waitress addresses the stranger as "Price." Prior to this, the stranger never once referred to himself by that name. An answer can be found in the original short story, in which the narrator (the owner of the diner) notices that the stranger's jacket has the name "Price" sewn into it. However, no such explanation is given in the episode itself.
Price: Mr. Trooper, you don't want me in your territory, believe me. Not with the body count I've got in my head.
Price: Listen, I came home walking on the bodies of my friends. Now you think you know what that's like?
Bob: War is over, Mr. Price, no need to bring it back.
Price: Bring it back? It never went away, not for me!
No opening or closing narration.
This episode is based on the short story "Nightcrawlers" by Robert R. McCammon. The story was first published in the anthology Masques (1984).
