Marsha Cole arrives at the mall just as it is about to close. She goes to a toy story and is greeted by an attendant. She asks for a Cornfield Kid Doll. As the attendant goes off to get the toy, Marsha meets a young boy who asks her to take him with her because he is "ready". The boy's mother escorts him away as the attendant returns with the Doll.
The attendant begins to ask Marsha questions: whether she has a driver's license, whether she has brothers and sisters, where she went to school, etc. Marsha is confused but doesn't remember anything before the last month. The attendant tries to grab her and Marsha runs off. She makes it to the elevator where she is greeted by a mysterious man with no hands. She gets out of the elevator and runs for a door hearing voices calling her name. She makes it to a shop door, but it is locked. The mysterious man approaches and asks her to remember.
He tells her that she, like him and everyone in the mall, are mannequins. Marsha runs off, but her legs and arms soon become solid plastic. As she lays immobile on the ground, the mysterious man tells her that her one month time in the real world is up and that she must return to being a mannequin and let someone else take her place.
The next day, the mysterious man and the attendant are back to their mannequin form, as is Marsha. As Marsha stands there solid, another mannequin now an umbrella carrying woman walks off to take her month in the real world.
