  • Schoolteacher Helen Foley comes home from work to find a young girl sitting on the steps outside her apartment. She invites the girl in and they start chatting. Strangely the girl seems to know Helen and tries to get her to remember events of the past.moreless

Early on the episode the viewer can easily see what the twist in the episode is (the picture that Seldon shows Helen is the giveaway), but this minor flaw is made up for by this well written and acted episode. Janice Rule is quite good as Helen Foley. The use of the song "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" is very effective and adds to the eerieness of the episode. The scene where Helen finally remembers what happened to her as a child is very well done (Even a bit scary). This is an episode you should definitely make time to see.moreless
  • Pretty good episode.

    9.2
In my opinion, this episode is underrated. It doesn't get all the credit it deserves. I know it's not a series classi, but it's still a good episode. I really like the storyline. It was really creative. Her being visited by her childhood self. Really cool. I suspected that that guy was the one who killed her mom. I knew he was up to no good. He was just creepy! It was pretty tense there toward the end. Helen fighting that guy. At first I was afraid that he really would kill her! I'm glad she lived. Anyways, this is a good episode of the Twilight Zone and deserves a little more credit than it gets.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • When Helen pushed Seldon to his death, his body was facing to the right. But when the next segment started, it was facing to the left.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • (Opening Narration)
Narrator: Month of November, hot chocolate, and a small cameo of a child's face, imperfect only in its solemnity. And these are the improbable ingredients to a human emotion, an emotion, say, like fear. But in a moment this woman, Helen Foley, will realize fear. She will understand what are the properties of terror. A little girl will lead her by the hand and walk with her into a nightmare.

    • (Closing Narration)
Narrator: Miss Helen Foley, who has lived in night and who will wake up to morning. Miss Helen Foley, who took a dark spot from the tapestry of her life and rubbed it clean, then stepped back a few paces and got a good look at the Twilight Zone.
