    • Salvadore Ross: You're saying you have it worse just because of a cold?
      Old Man: To someone as young as you it's just a cold, for someone my age it can easily become pnuemonia.

    • Salvadore Ross: I'm looking for compassion.
      Mr. Maitland: Compassion? I sold it to you yesterday.
      {Mr. Maitland shoots Salvadore Ross}

  • Notes

    • Sci-Fi Channel's cut, as of 2004, of this episode edits out at least one important plot point scene from this episode: when Sal buys Mr. Maitland's compassion. This removes a lot of the irony from the finale by making the revelation too abrupt.

    • This episode is based on the short story "The Self-Improvement of Salvadore Ross" by Henry Slesar. This story was first published in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction (May, 1961).
