The Ultimate Challenge

Show Summary

The Ultimate Challenge is a daredevil reality show from Fox studios, showcasing dangerous challenges taken on by brave professionals. Mike Adamle, and his co-host, Heather Thomas, present hour-long short documentaries of daredevils trying to defy the odds of death. In one segment, Stuntmen Larry Dunn and John Kazian tie themselves to a helicopter on autopilot, requiring one of them to escape, climb a rope ladder and control the machine within five minutes. Once under control, Kazian does a parachute jump to a target down below. By mid-season, Heather heads to Indonesia, accompanying professional kayakers Steve Berg and Mark Wolkowski, taking on the dangerous rapid of the Sumba River, a.k.a., "The River of Death. Cameras follow the athletes as they prepare for their changelings. Producer Sue Steinberg also gets footage from the daredevil's families, who show audiences how they cope with stress as their loved ones risk their lives. Before every outrageous stunt, Mike Adamle uses his signature call sign, "The adrenaline is in."
