There was a lot of fights on this show. The fight fan probably loved this, but I did not really care for it. Georges St. Pierre and Josh Koscheck just do not have the charisma to carry the show and none of the fighters showed any personality here either. I watched the show last year with Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz, but I will not be watching this season. I gave it an episode to hook me in, but it just did not do this. Way too boring, and no drama so far on this show, no scripted drama or real drama.moreless

Pretty good opener. The only thing here is that they show half the fights in full, and the other half are highlights.

However, with that said the majority of the fights they showed with the exception of one looked pretty exciting.

T.J Obrien vs. Marc Stevens –Total laugher. Tj just walks into a slew of right hands. Not very impressive on either end, but Marc does what he wanted which is get the coach's attention.

Spencer Paige vs. Steve Magdelano- Very competitive. Good fight that could have gone either way, a good showing by both guys.

Nam Phan vs. Mike Budnik –Not very impressive but good enough to fight. The fight is pretty competitive but a lack of a finish by Mike enables Nam to comeback and land a body shot, hurting him enough to finish the fight.

    Edited fights

Pablo Garza vs. Michael Johnson- An edited fight, so all we see are highlights, but Michael does look strong. Dane Sayers vs. Ariel Sexton –The last full fight they show. Dane tries to knock out Ariel with a flying knee, but Ariel weathers the storm and dominates the first almost knocking Dane out. However, Dane gets on top for an attempted choke. He just wanted to buy himself time till the horn sounds.

In Round Two, Ariel dominates him but fails to put the guy away. Dane tries in desperation for a choke which he eventually lands for the win. There were other fights but those were the ones that stood out. They did flash an alert saying that all the fights on the show can be seen in their entirety at UltimateFighter.com.

Overall, the opener was ok. It was definitely good enough to watch. It'll be interested to see how Koscheck and Pierre choose their teams.moreless
