  • The finale of the Ultimate Fighter Heavyweights.

Another free ppv card for UFC card. Great.

This was in the form of Ultimate Figher Finale Heavyweights, but we also saw extra fights for the show with fighters that are already in the UFC.

For the most part it wasn't a bad telecast. Like most UFC ppvs and broadcasts it had it's share of duds but there were a lot of hard hitting and kos which is the main highlight of these cards. The first fight is Marcus Jones vs. Matt Mitrione-

Hilarious ending where Mitrione knocks the holy hell out of Jones. Jones was perhaps overconfident in this fight. Mitrione looked like a pushover in the show, but he did prove himself in the fight with Scott Junk and this fight. Frank Edgar vs. Matt Veach. Goldberg says that Edgar-Good fight eventually Veach taps out to Edgar. Kimbo Slice vs. Huuston Alexander-Not as bad as you would think. Kimbo should have wiped the floor with Alexander if he was a trained fighter. Clearly Kimbo has a long, long way to go. Alexander giving up a lot of power and size really took it to Kimbo. I think this was good for Alexander.

Mark Bocek vs. Joe Brammer- A short fight but nonetheless hard hitting.

Matt Hammill vs.John Jones-Good hard hitting blows by Jones. This was a bloody fight so it was a UFC fan's dream. The fight was ruined by Steve's decision to disqualify Jones. Darrill Schoonover vs. James McSweeney-McSweeney takes this despite a nice effort by Darrill. Roy Nelson vs. Brendan Schaub-Not a bad fight, not great but not bad. Roy takes a couple of hard blows then relies on his large girth to counter Schaub.

Schaub is probably the fittest fighter this season, but he totally got suckered in by Roy's weight.

The broadcast was entertaining for the most part.moreless
  • Kimbo vs. Houston

    6.5
The UFC has put on some excellent, memorable cards over the years. This was not one of them.

The card featured fighters with sloppy builds, fighters with sloppy striking and fighters who are just not ready to compete.

Kimbo Slice looked terrible. Luckily, Houston Alexander looked worse. What were these two doing? The fight was only salvaged by Joe Rogan's comedic commentary during it.

Marcus Jones....this guy is an embarrassment to the sport. And Steve "The Worst Ref in MMA history" Mazzagatti strikes again. Seriously, get this guy out of the sport, he's blown so many calls and ruined so many fighter records.moreless
