  • Some okay fights, but nothing too spectacular.

    7.0
Rashad Evans, Forrest Griffin and Kenny Florian. Two men are the #1 contenders in their division and one is the current Light Heavyweight Champion (MMA's most stacked division). To put it mildly, The Ultimate Fighter has produced some truly remarkable talent.

Tonight was the golden opportunity for this season's contestants. Yet this incredible chance was wasted in my opinion.

Junie Browning and David Kaplan opened up the show with a very sloppy fight exposing both competitors as nothing more than TUF hype. These two would get absolutely demolished by anybody in the top 25.

Next we had Jason MacDonald vs. Wilson Gouveia in a battle of two men who recently destroyed Jason Lambert. Wilson came in over the 185 lbs. weight limit, but that helped him land a sick jab that put The Athlete on his back. MacDonald just can't seem to put together a streak of wins.

Next Anthony Johnson had a chance to avenge his controversial "loss" to Kevin Burns. He ended it with a vicious KO, but again neither man looked UFC-ready here.

Ryan Bader stopped Vinicius Magalhaes in the first. Bader did throw a vicious haymaker, but again does not have the potential to do any damage in the loaded LHW division. And I expect Magalhaes to fade into obscurity in the preliminaries now.

Efrain Escudero beat Phillip Nover fairly convincingly in a boring decision. While the fights were all watchable this looked more like an IFL show than a UFC event. More importantly no true superstars were built tonight, the goal of this program.moreless
