  • great episode

It continues the stories of the special ops team from season one. Mack signs the papers he needed to get out of the unit. He is treated almost like a stranger by his own unit after he prepares to leave the base. Jonas and his team are in afghanistan to hunt down some terrorists who are planning to spread small pox by disguising themselves as tourists. It's a really exciting episode, the action isn't so grandiose, just enough to make it look realistic. the CIA operative adds some suspense to this story, the whole episode shows one story back at the base and one on the field. it's really great.moreless
  • For a season premire, this episode was fairly good....

It was good to see that Kim's baby survived the pregnancy and made a decent entry into the world. I just wish I knew what the baby's name was/is. Then again, I don't think even Kim knows what to name the baby...

It was also good to see that everyone survived the attack at the end of last season, even if there weren't issues with that aspect of things. Also, what's going to happen with the little boy who'd runaway & ran straight to Tiffy? And will the base finally get counseling, or something, for the children who live on the base? Just a thought, I suppose.

This episode wasn't one of my favorites, but it was good none-the-less... and a fast character develpment episode...moreless
  • Painful to watch but great!

This show kicked you know what as it kicks off its sophmore year. With Mac retiring from the Unit or will he? Would hate for him to leave the show. Tiffy's student or one of them is being abused as she investigates what is happening when he comes by her room with bruises all over her. Bob & Kim welcomed their newborn son.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • Goof: When Mac is checking the checklist his pay grade is shown as E13, but a Master Sergeant's pay grade is E8.

    • After Jonas has blown up the bus Colonel Ryan says to him "Snakedoc, you're kind of persona non grata around there. You're gonna have a party around there ricky tick."

      Persona non grata
This phrase is Latin, meaning "an unwelcome person". Used mostly in diplomacy when the host nation refuses to accept a member of another country's delegation.

      Ricky tick
As soon as possible; quickly. Often seen following the word 'most' and is commonly heard by US Marines.

    • While Kim and Molly are outside talking, a bugle call is heard and we see everyone stopping what they are doing just before cutting to the lowering of the flag.

The bugle call is "Retreat" and is played daily on Army posts to announce the retiring of the colors. Military procedures and tradition requires everyone to stop what they are doing and face towards the flag, if visible, or the music.

In interests of time, TPTB committed two errors. The during the playing of "Retreat", the Soldier salutes and then we see the flag being lowered. In actuality, both of these activities would happen during the playing of the next bugle call, "To the Colors".

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Mack: (while putting his medals back on his uniform) A man won't sell you his life, but he'll trade it to you for a little piece of ribbon.
Kim: (smiling) How do you walk with all that trash on your chest?
Mack: I don't know, I ain't done it in years.

    • Mack: When you're in you're a guest, when you're out you're a pest.
