  • great episode

jonas and his team goes to a southeast asian nation to verify the nature of a rebel leader who is about to take control of over a military dictatorship. this episode almost takes an analytical view of left leaning governments. it's a simplistic look of the rise of communism. but it's done in a way that's watchable. the episode looks really good. even though there wasn't a big gun battle on this one. it works out really well. it's really entertaining. i had a good time watching it. the scenes were really well made, i can't wait for the next one.moreless
  • Jonas and the team are back!!

Missed The Unit during it's break so was really looking forward to it's return, enjoyed the episode and prefer theses types of episodes of the Unit where your following one Unit team member(s) but in the background another Unit team member(s) is masquerading as someone else making us believe something terrible is happening when in truth the team have it all under control.

All in all the episode was great, enjoyed William H Macey as the president and hope we see him again in future episodes, didn’t like the stuck-up female senator but Jonas, Bob, Hector and Charles put her in her place, I loved how Mac, Tiff, Molly and Kim put together a 70’s disco night for Crystal but it was sad at the end and felt for Molly, Crystal.moreless
  • The President of the U.S. orders Blane and the team to protect Senator web but secretly wants to teach her and the Asian government a lesson.

This was a classic example of the underbellies of the Administration and military. There were no good guys everything was all about power, politics and money.

Jonas is called by the President to protect Senator Web as she goes overseas (Vietnam I believe)for talks with a General Radja.

Radja wants American backing to take over the government which is ruled by a Dictator. The Senator is kidnapped but as we learn later looks can be deceiving. In the end, the President (played by William H. Macy) came off as a real slimeball. It's a classic example of politics that really deal with economic interests and power and have nothing to do with liberty.

I thought if that was the intention of the episode they did a fine job in succeeding. The sidestory with Crystal was ok but too predictable. It was sad though. Molly and everyone made a special occasion for her and yet what happens at the end is devastating.moreless
  • Bittersweet episode!

A very bittersweet episode in which Jeremy is badly burned

As Crystal awaits him in a seventies party with Mac

Tiffy, and Kim. Mac & Tiffy wreck the house trying to

Find the ring for Crystal. Meanwhile a dangerous mission in which Jonas & his team must guard a US Senator goes awry when the Senator is kidnapped as they must try to save her in a race against time. I love William H Macy in everything I see him in!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (0)

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Jonas: Just make sure the senator stays in her hotel.
Bob: I will use all my powers of persuasion. If that doesn't work, I'll hit her in the head.

    • President: (Referring to General Raja) And the man, how did you find him?
      Jonas: Smart, charismatic, a leader.
      President: But?!
Jonas: I wouldn't go hunting with him, sir.

    • President: I have to thank you for exceeding my expectations.
      Jonas: How's that, sir?
President: The Senator's kidnapping. You gave me a pretext. To either support the coup or if I sit out, it's already made the government there a whole lot more obedient.
Jonas: Just trying to keep the fine Senator out of harm's way.
      President: Well, well done.

    • General Raja: Tell me, Mr. Green. What will you report to your President?
Jonas: That you are an impeccable host.

    • Jonas: On your list of requests, I don't see election officials or ballot boxes.
General Raja: The most suitable aid would be M4 machine guns and C-130 transport planes.
Raja's Aide: Which you can secure through your Anti-Terrorist Activities Fund.
General Raja: Security first, then elections.

    • Bob: I see wisdom is not completely absent in these parts.

  • NOTES (4)

    • General Raja's cap is reminiscent of those worn by Fidel Castro. Sharing a long Cuban-like cigar with Jonas Blane is an obvious allusion to that revolutionary Cuban leader.
