  • great episode and almost real life scenareo

this episode is one of the best i have seen in these series. The real danger that they have to endure every day once thaty are on am ission is weel pictured here in this episode. The way that our military moves its resourses on the military front and the civiliant part of the service is very well directed in this episode. The movemnt of the security detail is almos realistic when they have to used local resources.moreless
  • A "revealing" episode only because it reveals the inherent silliness of this series insistence on focusing on the wives' stories.

Let's see. An assassination of the US Secretary of State or Molly, the would-be Oprah of US Army, gets flim flammed by a confidence woman's sob story. Which one would YOU devote most of an hour's airtime to? The assassination? Nah. Too exciting. Too relevant. Too much opportunity to make a real storyline work for a change. Nope. Instead, spend most of your time on a too good to be true confidence story that was a cliche when Chaucer first picked up a quill and ink stand.

But then, there is the suspicion in me that part of the reason for last night's focus on Fat Molly was because even the producers and writers realize how irritating her do-gooding has become, how teeth grinding it is to listen to her sanctimonious lectures on "wisdom" and how to live life. Just maybe, the creators of The Unit decided to take Molly down because they're more than a little sick of her themselves.

I've said it before. I'll say it again. Get RID of the wives' stories every week. If they are needed at all, it's only once every fourth or fifth episode, where their tales of domestic woe can be used for the filler it really it is. Who's up for Queen for a Day?moreless
  • Bob plays both bodyguard and escort to the rude Secretary of State while Molly and Kim both have a terrible day at the office.

Bob plays escort to the Secretary of State whose here on a secret meeting in Africa. Meanwhile Molly sees an opportunity for a real estate deal but is swindled by a con couple. Kim has a close call in the radio station when a would be a rapist tries to get her (pregnant or not).

Wow. This one was real good. The fact that most of it took place with Bob in the car with Secretary looking over their shoulders for would be assassins added a lot of suspense.

At the beginning we see some black guy get gunned down while meeting Bob. Bob talks to Jonas and learns that the Secretary of State is town secretly Seeing what has happened , Bob doesn’t know what to do. The Secretary is a major ahole and says that will destroy Bob’s military career. Eventually we see Bob work great under pressure and he manages to the guy’s behind while taking down several assassins.

Meanwhile Kim has a close call with a rapist but her friend Rory comes to her rescue.

This was a solid episode. It had all the elements of a small thriller there for a while I would give it a 9 out 10.

  • Great show indeed!

Great show indeed and no wonder why I love the show

It is about teamwork as there is no I in team

Bob's cover gets blown and fearful not for himself but

For the others on his team that may die all because of his

Cover getting blown. He goes to Jonas for help.

Meanwhile Kim is trying to still get adjusted to military life and may get a job at a radio station.

While Jonas' wife gets a real estate opportunity.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • Goof: Towards the end of the episode, after Bob shoots the driver and the woman; all the close-up shots of him taking control of the truck show him using his left hand to steady the steering wheel. But in the long shots, it is his right hand on the steering wheel.

    • The planes stationed at the airfield Bob was operating from had British made Hawker Hunters with Swiss colors on their tails.

    • Wrong Call Sign
Sergeant Charles Grey's call sign is "Betty Blue" in the majority of The Unit Episodes. However, in this episode Jonas calls Colonel Ryan by the same call sign - "Betty Blue" - during a telephone conversation.

    • When the young man in the soccer jersey is first identified, the computer screen shows his name with the incorrect spelling of Annanuel Uday instead of Ammanuel Uday.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • (Kim lands a job at a radio station)
Radio Host: (Notices a gun in Kim's purse) You have a gun.
Kim: You want to reconsider that advance? Bob got me a permit for it.
      Radio Host: Is it loaded?
Kim: Well it's silly to carry it otherwise. Offends your sensibilities?
Radio Host: I don't believe in them, I'm more the poetic type.
Kim: You don't find a pistol poetic? You ever heard of "Poetic Justice"?

    • Secretary of State: (to Bob) Daniel, you just screwed yourself out of a military career. We will go forward as planned; you will get me to this meeting and once we get back to the plane, I will see to your dishonorable discharge; personally.

    • (Jonas' advice to cancel a Government meeting is ignored)
      Kayla: Why would-
Jonas: The Secretary of State ignore our advice? Well okay, because A: to skip this meeting would threaten a fledgling democracy in Africa, and would weaken our position in the region.
      Kayla: And B?
Jonas: Because the man fancies himself a cowboy.

    • Brown: (talking about the African soldiers) Training's all broken down. They all went belly up. They're like the Rangers. Give them a 5 minute break they all need to be taught again.

    • (soldiers shoot intruder)
      Translator: He's dying Mr. Daniel.
Brown: Yeah, I would think so.
