AIRED:

Burlesque theater owner Nate Kester branches into bootlegging liquor, but has to "eliminate" a legitimate cognac maker so he can pass off his own inferior brand to the public. • Flat Season Two finale.

    5.0
Despite a slam bang action climax this episode falls flat. It's almost as though everyone was tired from the grind of a long season (Season Two was the show's longest. It had 32 episodes.) and in a hurry to start their vacations. Steve Cochran, who was so effective in The Purple Gang, isn't nearly as effective here. Cochran's performance illustrates the danger of bringing back an actor who had previously created such a memorable character. He might not do it a second time. It would be repeated in the case of Jack Klugman in Seasons Three and Four.moreless
