Most purists despise this episode along with its companion episode, Search for a Dead Man, and consider them two of the worst of the series. I disagree. Neither is a classic or even memorable but they both get a bit of a bad rap. Of the two Barbara Stanwyck episodes Elegy is the stronger and it contains some pretty powerful moments although screen time for the Untouchables is limited and there isn't much action. Elegy is a bit ahead of its time in some ways with the revelation that Margaret Radick had given birth to an illegitimate child and the strong hint that she'd been sexually molested by her foster father. The climactic scene where Charlie and Margaret Radick are re-united is very powerful. Even the hardest of heart might shed a little tear.
