  • Frank Nitti's swan song

    9.0
Globe of Death marks Bruce Gordon's swan song as Frank Nitti. When last seen he's being led away into custody for heroin trafficking but we learn from the narration it's a rap he will beat. Good, well-written episode here with good performances from not only Gordon but also Barry Morse as his doublecrossing lieutenant and Malachi Throne, Phillip Pine, and Walter Burke as Morse's confederates in crime. There's also a memorable bit from Cliff Osmond as Augie who's perhaps Nitti's most slovenly henchman in show history.

Note: The events of Season Three's Element of Danger are mentioned in this episode.moreless
