  • It didn't get any better than this

Eliot Ness matches wits with a criminal defense attorney brilliantly portrayed by Jack Klugman. Klugman's Morton Halas is one of the most memorable characters in Untouchables history. Neither a true villain nor a hero, Halas is in a sense a flawed giant--a brilliant attorney who sells out for the easy money of defending mobsters. Which isn't easy for Halas because Martin Landau's Larry Coombs is one of the dumbest mobsters in show history. He doesn't do one intelligent thing the entire episode. Gavin MacLeod and George Tobias also have nice bits as mobsters defended by Klugman and there's yet another slam bang action climax.
