This is a pretty weak and boring episode from a show which had yet to work out all the kinks. Fortunately, better episodes were just around the corner. Besides a boring and routine script the main flaw with The Artichoke King is the casting of Jack Weston as lead villain Ciro Terranova. Weston looks and acts more like a fat mama's boy than one of the toughest mobsters of that time period in New York. This one just didn't work for me although I know one or two others who like it. Different strokes for different folks although I happen to rate The Artichoke King as the second weakest episode of Season One.moreless
