Season 4 Episode 22

The Butcher's Boy

Aired Thursday 9:30 PM Mar 12, 1963 on ABC

  • Trivia

    • Continuity: When Davy McCain is searching for the deceased Phillip Hedden's belongings in the shipping terminal, he finds them and the person to whom they are to be shipped to is listed as a Mrs. Louise Hedden in Iowa. Earlier it is stated that Hedden's belongings were being shipped to his sister in Iowa. If Louise Hedden is the sister, they would not have put the Mrs. in front of her name. If she was married, her last name would be something besides Hedden and if she was single, there would not be the Mrs. before her name.

  • Quotes

    • Hedden: (to his driver) What are you waiting for...a chicken dinner?

    • Hedden: (to the old doughboys) Watch those waistlines 'cause I'm gonna court-martial anyone who has to jam himself into his uniform.

    • Boley: (about Ducek) Phil, he's tough.
      Hedden: (slaps Boley) You're tougher.

    • Ducek: (to his boys) First rule is don't kill a customer.

    • Hedden: You've learned all the angles.
Ducek: What angles? Just playin' the golden rule. Doin' to you like you been doin' to them.

    • Ducek: (proposing a toast) To the best organization in town.
Hedden: If it was the best, you wouldn't be here to drink to it.
Ducek: I'll drink to that too.

    • Ness: You get that chopper I'll give you a medal.
Davey: Save it! I don't need no crummy medal! Shavetails get medals! I get this! (points to his scarred eye).

    • Davey: (to Boley) Over your dead body if I have to. My desk and my chair. If you want 'em you're gonna have to take 'em away from me.

    • Davey: (to Boley) Hedden's dead. It's something you oughta get used to. His car, his girl, his wine. He can't use 'em no more.
