Ness goes up against a trio of baddies who aspire to become Chicago's king of champagne: slimy Ed Wald, miserly Barney Loomis, and slippery Michel Viton. Perhaps the best thing about this episode is that all the actors appeared like they had a good time and enjoyed their roles. Take special note of Middleton's performance as Barney Loomis wins honors as the cheapest baddie in show history. Loomis could give tightwad lessons to Jack Benny. Barry Morse would return in Season Four's Globe of Death.moreless
