  • Southern belle Rusty Heller wants to get to the top on the arm of a big man; gangster Pops Felcher and his lawyer Archie Grayson try, but they don't have the juice; Rusty gets even with both for their betrayal, flirting with and aiding Ness along the way.moreless

    10
This ranks in the top three (along with The Jake Lingle Killing & The Doreen Maney Story) of all the episodes for me; there is no down time--every sequence, every sentence has a point. Rusty mesmerizes every male in the episode and even Eliot Ness has a hard time turning her down. Elizabeth Montgomery looks stunning as a red-head and every outfit was a knock-out (can't say the same for the hats though--they covered up that red hair). Alas, Rusty must get killed in the end--with the 1960 censor's code, they couldn't have a mere female (and a prostitute to boot!) come out triumphant over all of those tough males and end up with $350K for her troubles. Liz was robbed at the 1961 Emmys!moreless
  • Shame on you, Samantha

    9.5
Elizabeth Montgomery was nominated for an Emmy for her performance in this episode as prostitute Rusty Heller who lies, cheats, and manipulates her way to the top of the underworld food chain. Fans of Montgomery's later work in Bewitched should also enjoy the fact that David White, who played Larry Tate in that series, plays Montgomery's mob lawyer lover here. Boy, would Darrin Stephens ever be ticked if he saw this episode. Or maybe it was Samantha's lookalike cousin, Serena, up there on the screen making out with Larry Tate.

Bewitched references aside this is an excellent episode which also introduces Paul Picerni to the cast as Untouchable Lee Hobson. Strangely enough, Hobson, alone among the Untouchables, is never given any background story. We can only speculate where he came from because it's never given on the show. Perhaps his real name was Leonardo Hobsoni.moreless
