Cliff Robertson's psychotic lead villain, escaped bank robber Frank Halloway, is worthy of inclusion into any Untouchables Rogues Gallery or list of great villains. Virginia Vincent's performance as Mona (no last name is ever given for the character) also deserves to be ranked as one of the best by an actress. Mona ends up as one of the truly tragic characters in show history. The viewer honestly wants her to succeed and find happiness just as they are rooting against the brutish Halloway. The final scene between Vincent and Robertson is haunting and unforgettable. It's almost as though Mona willingly lets herself be strangled to death by Halloway in order to prove her love for him.moreless
