  • The two Lt. Columbos

    8.0
In this episode we get to see the two Lt. Columbos appearing together. Thomas Mitchell played the rumpled detective in the broadway play Prescription: Murder while Falk of course played him in the long-running television series. Old pro Mitchell gives a solid performance and Falk shows us glimpses of his future greatness as an actor. The interrogation scene between him and Robert Stack is a classic. Virginia Vincent returns for her second guest appearance on the show and does well as does Val Avery who is particularly nasty as Johnny, the enforcer for the Underworld Bank of the title. Fortunately for us all, Falk would return once more to the Untouchables in the show's Season Three opener: The Troubleshooter. He'd be even better in that one.moreless
