The prison grapevine used in this episode would be used once again in Season Four's Giant Killer.
Goof: Walter Winchell said Monroe City, Missouri is 194 miles northeast of Leavenworth, Kansas. It's only 172 miles, and it's due east.
Thorne: You got it all fixed?
Segal: I don't know what you're talkin' about. They're gonna parole me 'cause I'm innocent.
Sebring: I think I'll go the long route. I can wait.
Ness: Will your wife wait?
Ness: Whadda you want, Sebring, a free ride all your life?
Caserta: You know something, Sebring, you been workin' on that rock pile too long. All of a sudden, your brain's turnin' to mud.
Nitti: (to Baldwin) You know how much I want those lines kept open. Some of the fellas might wanna get the weather report.
Warden: Three thousand men aren't going berserk to cover up for a killing.
Ness: Aren't they?
Sebring: I was goin' over the wall with the rest of 'em.
Ness: With your parole hearing all set up? Nobody's gonna believe that.
Narrator: Frank Nitti had kept his part of the deal. Nat Baldwin was thrown to the cops dead. Very dead.
Baldwin: But, Frank, I told you before, I thought I had the parole Board all arranged... but they crossed me up.
Nitti: I believe you like I believe a cop! That Sebring, we'll take care of him, but not like last time. I don't want anymore kickbacks. I don't want anymore trouble in the Pen. And, Nat, if anything goes wrong with this deal-- we're gonna throw you to the cops.
Thorne: (to another convict) So I told her, I said, "Dames like you are a dime a dozen-- and me, I got a dime, so haul your freight out of here."
Peter Leeds was the original Lamar Kane in the pilot episode for The Untouchables. He was replaced by Chuck Hicks once the series began.
