This was a GREAT show! I loved it. Val Doonican has the most beautiful, soothing voice. Even more relaxed than Perry Como. I wish it had been broadcast in the U.S. for longer. His music and humor were unique. Kind of folksie, a little bit country. Nice looking gentleman, too.
He sang this one song on every show. It was incredibly beautiful. I wish I could remember the name of that song, so I could try to find a recording of it. I think it was a classic folk song melody, with different words. He had lots of very fine guest artists, and often did duets with them. His voice is just amazing.moreless
