A The Vampire Diaries Community
Friday 8:00 PM on The CW

Following in the footsteps of NBC and CBS, The CW has announced premiere dates for its new fall shows. The network's schedule kicks off with the two-night IHeartRadio Festival on Monday, September 29 and Tuesday, September 30.

The network is reallllly pushing The Flash, not only airing encores of the two episodes of Arrow in which Grant Gustin's Barry Allen was introduced, but also giving the new series two post-Arrow time slots to help boost its visibility. Repeats of Arrow's "The Scientist" and "Three Ghosts" will air Wednesday, October 1 at 8pm and 9pm, respectively, with The Flash itself debuting on Tuesday, October 7 at 8pm. Arrow's third season will debut the following night, on Wednesday, October 8 at 8pm, followed by an encore of The Flash's series premiere.

Elsewhere in the lineup, we'll finally be reunited with Alaric (and hopefully find out WTF happened to Damon and Bonnie) when The Vampire Diaries returns for Season 6 on Thursday, October 2 at 8pm, followed by the Season 2 premiere of Reign at 9pm.

On Monday, October 6, we'll return to New Orleans and the Mikaelson family when Season 2 of The Originals premieres on its new night at 8pm. This will be followed by a Supernatural retrospective special prior to the Season 10 premiere on Tuesday, October 7 at 9pm after The Flash premiere.

New dramedy Jane the Virgin will debut Monday, October 13 at 9pm after the second episode of The Originals. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until Wednesday, October 22 to find out what happened to Finn and Bellamy when Season 2 of The 100 premieres at 9pm.

America's Next Top Model and Whose Line Is It Anyway will be holding down the fort on Fridays. ANTM returns for Cycle 21 on Friday, August 22 at 9pm, while new episodes of Whose Line Is It Anyway? will continue to air on Mondays throughout the summer at 8pm and 8:30pm before shifting to Fridays on October 3.

Season two of The 100 will probably have more episodes than season ones thirteen seeing it is now a Fall show.

I saw it last night also and must say I was very impressed. I thought it was really good.

The Flash was leaked just yesterday so it's funny they should be announcing it's premiere date today. It supports the theory that it was the CW itself who leaked the episode.

Was it finished or did it still need to be worked on?

I haven't seen it, although I understand it's got some sort of CW property watermark message across the bottom.

Excited about TVD, TO, SPN, Arrow and The Flash! Haven't watched Reign or The 100 yet (stupid HSC) but it's on my must-see list.

Did anyone else notice that the full pilot for The Flash can already be found on-line?

Did it look finished?

Yes, it was finished, meaning that it did have all the CGI and effects in place. However, the image quality was poor which made some scenes grainy. It was a "preair webrip" and throughout the episode it had "For promotional use only" written at the bottom of the screen.

And no wires shown? Wow. Hmm, I think I will wait if its quality is low. IIRC, KTLA5.1 is in 1080i.

I may have given the wrong impression about the quality. It's not as good as in most 720 rips, but it's probably still better than in a typical 300 MB (not 720p) file.

I just downloaded it, but the video quality is rather poor, even in the 720p file. I'll probably watch it anyway.

Yes. No unfinished CGI or anything else that needs to be fixed. It didn't have a title sequence though. I would guess that that's the one and only thing they'll add later.

The leaked pilot of The Flash was pretty good. You can watch it here if you want: sockshare. com/file/A60F195CE305DB8E *just remove the space between the dot and the next letter, then you're good to go*

You're all welcome. Even tho it will be deleted within the hour, at least I got to please some people...

CW has some weird pairings... Jane the (stupid show about a) Virgin with The Originals? I'll never understand why they don't pair TO with The Vampire Diaries, and now not pair Arrow and The Flash. then just put The 100 as a lead in for Supernatural. Reign's kind of hard to place, it doesn't really fit with the rest of CW's programming like their other shows do.

Upon first glance, it does seem strange the network wouldn't want to pair TVD with The Originals or Arrow with The Flash, but it's actually a very strategic move.

Keeping them apart spreads the wealth throughout the week; Arrow fans are likely to watch the Barry Allen spin-off no matter when it airs, and airing The Flash and Arrow on different evenings gives The Flash a much better chance of drawing viewers who aren't aware of Oliver Queen. Plus, Supernatural is heading into its tenth season without showing any signs of stopping and when it was paired with The Originals, the combo earned the network some of its highest-rated Tuesday nights in years. So the Winchesters' incredibly loyal fanbase makes Supernatural the perfect show to help launch The Flash. The network is just reusing the same formula from the 2013-14 season for the 2014-15 season.

Please don't ask me why The Originals is paired with Jane the Virgin, though, because it would have been much better off paired with the network's other dramedy, Hart of Dixie, but The CW chose to hold that until mid-season (possibly because Rachel Bilson is pregnant? Who knows?)

CW should have paired Arrow and Flash on the same night.

I'm worried that The Originals being paired with the stupid virgin show is going to cause a drop in ratings - and if they cancel The Originals, expect a mega rampage from me...

Yay! RIP Supernatural:Tribes. You will never see the light of day

Don't throw a party yet. They're thinking of trying again to make another spin-off. They either get it right this time or they don't try it ever again.

You are absolutely right! The Vampire diaries is no longer CW's number 1 show

it would have been better to have the highest rated series premiere first to alert viewers that it is time to stalk to the ttv............

Such a late premiere for The 100, that's going to be a long wait.

Not as long as it could have been, it would have been perfectly logical for CW to air The 100 next spring.
