There was a lot going on in this episode, that felt like another mini-finale. This means a great chunk to enjoy for the fans, but it's also frustrating that the show keeps going on these huge breaks. This disrupts the flow of the story arcs.

Anyway, The biggest bit of business was the opening of Katherine's Tomb- and the reveal that she WASN'T THERE! I nice surprise, but it makes total sense, as it keeps Damon's plot thread moving. The fact that Anna knew was interesting, and though it seemed sweet enough that she just wanted her mother back (the beautiful Kelly Hu), but as a whole I really haven't been a fan of the Anna character, and would have preferred if Damon killed her and mum after being tricked. Is he going soft? Elena and Bonnie in danger was pretty standard fare, and I wish more could have come from that hostage scene with the Tom Cruise look-a-like (who has been enjoyable as a novice vampire). Jenna was surprisingly absent from an episode that featured both her niece being kidnapped and her nephew getting knocked out at a party. But FYI, Jeremy might know something is up with vampires! Exciting.

The Witches hex on the tomb entrance was also pretty standard, but I liked the twist of sealing the vamps in. We get a series of situations where Elena, then Stefan, then Elena again all run the risk of danger/getting sealed in, but I honestly thought it played out a little clumsily, and didn't find it too suspenseful. What did really work in the episode for me was seeing Stefan kick some ass in the woods, Caroline's sweet little "speeches" with Matt, and a really really great performance from Bonnie when it looks like her grandmother has died. (wow) Also enjoyable for me is to see Damon's anguish. He seems directionless now, and Elena is beginning to gravitate towards him. And Stefan doesn't like it...but I do! (damn road trips- gets 'em every time)moreless

This episode was the most amazing episode of the season. It was absolutely, positively breathtaking.

Things I would like to discuss:

1. Katherine not being in the tomb. Oh, my! What will become of this!
b. I really liked how Damon found out that Katherine knew where he was but didn't care. I had a feeling that would happen (although I thought she would be in the tomb under Fell Church). Now Damon has two options:: He can either move on or go in search of Katherine. I have a feeling he'll try to move on, but I know she'll appear as the series progresses.

2. The tomb opening. That was sheer awesomeness. Especially the ending when the creepy vampire guy escaped escaped. He's going to cause some definite trouble in Mystic Falls. Can't wait to see where that storyline goes.

3. Grams dying... I feel mixed about this. I liked her, and she was a good teacher for Bonnie. I think it was right for her to die, but I think they should have killed her a little later on. May we call it "Vicki Syndrome?" lol. I also liked the way Bonnie reacted to her grandma's death as strange as that may sound. We haven't really seeing that much of Bonnie's acting ability until then, and it was so realistic and moving, you could even say. I was touched. ::---))))

4. Bonnie using her magic to set Ben on fire. That was sweet. And it showed how she's not the scared, little witch anymore... but is ready to kick some serious a$$.

5. Something I didn't like... At the end of Children of the Damned when Stefan is shocked and races upstairs to check on Elena and discovers she's gone... wouldn't (the absent in this episode) Jenna and Jeremy be suspicious? If not then, at least when she wasn't there in the morning?

6. Something I REALLY liked. JEREMY KNOWS! JEREMY KNOWS! LoL. Seeing him type "vampires" into Bing was a sweet moment. Can't wait to see how that works out.

7. That moment when we think that no one will be able to escape the tomb. That was suspenseful!

8. Someone I miss: Alaric!!!! Where art thou??!

9. Something I really liked was that touching moment between Elena and Damon when she proves to him that he can, in fact, trust her. I love them together (not romantically, but as friends).

So finally they try to open the tomb. Bonnie and her grandmother opens the tomb, while Damon takes Elena with him inside, to find Cathrine, just to reasure that they won't close him inside. But Cathrine is not there. The new girl, Anna, also goes into the tomb, to find her mother. Damon later finds out, from Anna's mother, that Cathrine managed to get away, before they closed the tomb. And Anna tells him that she met Cathrine a while ago, and that Cathrine didn't ask her about Damon.

Jeremy gets suspicious of Anna, since her eyes always changes, and she turns away. He tells Elena that he doesn't remember anything from the night they opened the tomb, but when she's gone, he searches for vampires on the internet. I'm not the best at telling all that happend in this episode, but the thing I can tell is that I loved this episode, and I think this was really the best one so far!moreless

This was by far the best episode of the series so far! It was intense and had lots of cliffhanging scenes with a bunch of twists and turns that left me on the edge of my seat during the entire episode. It also moved all of the story lines forward!

In this episode

Bonnie and Elena are trapped in the bathroom of Anna and Ben's (hotel it looks like) and they need Bonnie to break the spell in order to open the tomb. and they need Elena to make sure Bonnie does it. Anyways Stefan saves Bonnie and Elena. Bonnie's Gram says that they will open the tomb. Jeremy invites Anna to party in the woods, but he doesn't know that she has other plans for in the woods.

So, Grams and Bonnie open the tomb and Damon takes Elena inside with him to be sure they won't close the tomb with him inside. Anna then comes and goes inside the tomb and uses Elena's blood to put life back into her mother. Damon then realizes Katherine is not in the tomb. Stefan comes back and Grams and Bonnie tell him Elena is inside the tomb, but he cannot go in because they only opened the tomb, they didn't break the spell so vampires can only go in and not out, but Elena can get out since shes human. Stefan hears her scream when Anna is using her blood so Stefan runs inside the tomb to save her!! Elena walks out of the tomb saying Stefan is behind her, but Bonnie tells her he can't leave the tomb. So Bonnie and Grams try to break the spell, but they can only hold it for so long, so he has to run out quick. They finally break the spell, and Stefan and Elena are trying to force Damon out of the tomb and make it out just in time, as well as Anna and her mother. Damon then goes to talk to Anna and her mother tells him she bribed the guard to let her escape before they closed the tomb and Anna tells him she saw Katherine in Chicago a while ago and she never asked about him saying that Katherine never cared for him. Also Jeremy starts to become suspicious of Vampires since Anna's eyes change and she always turns away. and then in the end, a heart wrenching scene, when Bonnie finds her Gram dead in her bed!! :( That was a horrible yet incredible scene!

Geez what an outstanding episode of The Vampire Diaries we have here! This should be a 16/10! It was that good!moreless

A total success! This weeks episode not only had me frightened, but breathless, and it left me wanting more! I seriously cannot wait until March 25th!

First of all, I'd like to start off by saying this show has so much drama without it seeming like it has so much drama. I was not expecting Katherine to not be in the tomb, it made me sad to know that Damon was like in denial. And I seriously thought that Damon, Stefan, and Elena were all going to get stuck down there! I was literally jumping out of my seat, no lie! Then when Gram died, and at the end when the vampire starting opening the tomb door, I was like "WHOA!" But I can't wait until March 25th for new episodes! This one was outstanding, definitely one of the best I've seen this season so far. But what do you think? Will Damon go looking for Katherine, or will he give up and fall for Elena? Hm, guess we'll have to wait for new episodes to find out!moreless
