    Tyler was BORN from a NON-ACTIVATED werewolf: that's what makes him who he is. Mason was born because of the same father as Mayor Lockwood: that's what makes him who he was. All the way up to George Lockwood each and every male in that family was born with it, whether the bloodline was activated or not, same as Klaus had to be BORN with werewolf blood in him otherwise the show itself contradicts its own canon.
    Just because you are born with the werewolf gene doesn't make you a werewolf.


    Actually, that's exactly what it meansand, until the show retcons that for good, that's exactly what it will continue to mean.

    Lets face this, the writers blew it: they've dug their own plot hole to retcon for this contradicts their own canon.

    the witches bound klaus's werewolf side. therefore there would be NOTHING werewolf about him until it was unbound. therefore the stuff that affects werewolves or even BEING a werewolf does not apply to klaus until the curse is broken.

    Except the witches spelled the Gilbert device, the Gilbert device had en effect on Mayor Lockwood on season 1, despite the curse was not active in him. So Klaus must be exactly like Mayor Lockwood now except for the fact he also has a vampire side, no matter how incompatible that may be therefore, accoding to the show, Klaus is not an Original: he's barely a werewolf who was turned into a vampire.

    he wasn't like mayor lockwood. mayor lockwood if he killed someone would've activated the werewolf side. it wasn't like that with klaus, it was impossible for him to turn into a werewolf until the curse was broken. then he would kill someone, and be able to be a werewolf.

    I agree with tv.com's assessment yes it was boring but gave us a much needed history lesson great reveals and finally Jenna is on board.
