At the Founder's Day Gala, Elena and Caroline compete in the "Miss Mystic Fall" contest. Elena is very happy to have Bonnie back but Bonnie still has some issues to work. Meanwhile, John Gilbert tries unsuccessfully to intimidate Damon, and Damon discovers that Stefan is hiding a very dangerous secret.

"I'm freaking Hungry!"

Stefan kidnapped a girl from a pageant and fought within himself to feed on her. Having this girl under compulsion made it even more interesting. This was easily the best scene of the episode. Amber: Do you want to hurt me?

Stefan: I want to kill you. I want to rip into your skin and I want to feed on your blood... Amber: What's stopping you?

Stefan: If I do this, if I give in, there's no going back.

Amber: Then don't.

Stefan: I just want one taste. That's all I need. I just want one taste....

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what true vampire lore is all about! A pure dichotomy of horror and sensuality. For the sake of this show, Dark Stefan is one of the best things that could have happened to this series.

I say this because other elements of Vampire Diaries are getting a little tedious. Specifically, I mean the social get-togethers. If it's not a dance, it's a banquet. Or a pageant, or gala, or some sort of glamorous ball, often routed in town tradition. These type of "events" have less and less meaning if they have them every week. That's always the trouble with small towns- finding something for people to do.

Anyway, Damon and John are still jocking for position. They tried to negotiate with each other, but a Damon now has an advantage, since Pearl gave him the trinket John was looking for. We don't know what it does yet, but Pearl and Damon seem to have made up. John, meanwhile suspects Jeremy might think vamps are real, and with the kid being so chummy with Anna, he's definately got a plan of his own, up his sleeve.

For my complaints, Miss Mystic Falls was a nice little ceremony, though. With Stefan MIA, Damon stepped in as Elena's escort, and the two had a nice moment dancing. I've wondered how VD was going to make this love triangle work (Damon being so damn evil, Stefan being so damn perfect) but they are taking delicate strokes, and it's playing out subtly, at just the right pace. Most importantly, I am believing the slow change. Elena as a character continues to surprise, as well. After saving Barbie from Stefan (thanks to the hotness that is Bonnie- welcome back!) she confronts him in his room and he totally went Street Car on her. To her credit, Elena did not show fear and did not back down, refreshing for a female character in that situation. It was very Buffy-Angel. She stabbed him with vervain and threw him in the cellar. Of course she chose to stay, but I really liked that Damon also decided to wait it out. Could he have a heart after all? Will Bonnie ever make peace with the vamps who she blames from Gram's death? Will Caroline make good use of her Miss Mystic Falls crown? We'll find out in the days to come!moreless

Damon and Elena's chemistry is UNDENIABLE!

Ok, I really enjoyed this episode. I thought it was really cool and interesting to see Stefen and Damon sort of switching roles. And after watching this episode Elena and Damon's chemistry is simply undeniable. I mean, the way they were looking at each other during the dance... It was amazing. And i liked how Damon decided to wait it out with her at the end of the episode. Stefen was a beast in this episode! Damon made a really good point: All this time Stefen had been fighting who he is and the hunger, when he should have been learning how to control it. Very true as proven in this episode.moreless

I absolutely LOVED this episode. Especially seeing how considerate Damon is when Stefan wasn't there to escort Elena. Do you deny the sizzling hot chemistry between Damon and Elena? The dance, the "almost-touch", is really intriguing. I though I was a Team Stefan all the way, but I think I'm going to go with Team Damon now. It might change over time, but if more of these scenes come out, especially the last bit where Damon waits with Elena, I'll be cheering for Damon all the way. Who are you rooting for? The ultra sexy and mesmerizing rebel Damon? Or Stefan, the nice guy, Edward Cullen-ish, a real gentleman with manners that are to die for! So who would it be?moreless

Another excellent episode, not perfect, but very superb. You could call this episode a filler as nothing new really happened, but it's one of those episodes that has to happen for the story to continue, so it wasn't completely filler. I liked how we got sort of a switch in the story, Stefan has gone bad and Damon has gone nice. It's a nice twist in the story. I'm glad Bonnie is back as I see a lot of potential in her witch story. Stefan continues with his blood craze as Damon tells Elena that Stefan is still drinking human blood and that what he says, he doesn't mean. During the Miss. Mystic Falls pageant, Stefan finds contestant Amber and takes her to the parking lot where he sucks her blood and eventually continues to suck her blood in the woods. Damon fills in for Stefan as Elena's escort. Caroline wins Miss. Mystic Falls, and Damon, Elena, and Bonnie find Stefan in the woods with Amber. Bonnie does some type of witch spell on him. At the end, Elena tells Stefan she believes in him and that it's her fault that he is like this now. So she injects him with something and her and Damon lock Stefan up! These endings to these episodes are really great!

Overall Pretty Good Episdoe. 9/10moreless

a special day : Miss mystic falls day and there are certain girls who were part of the founders family and they have to represent each family. part of the miss mystic falls is the girls have to dress nicely and do a dance with a boymoreless

i think this episode is great it shows that elena still believes that stefan will control his thirst for blood and try his best to. i love this episode it is one of my favourite episodes because i am team damon, and in this episode it shows the friendship or bond that elena and damon have for each other, elena knows that she loves stefan and she finds damon as a friend but knows that damon loves her, this episode is cute because stefan can't make it to the miss mystic falls dance because he drinking humans blood and is craving for more, so elena expects him to be there at the dance but when she walks down the steps her dance partner stefan is not there so she has no body luckily damon was there to save the day and he took elena and went to dance with her, people were quite shocked and asked questions like why is damon dancing with elena and nit stefan. after the dance they announce the miss mystic falls winner who is caroline, suprisingly and not elena, since stefan is always craving for human blood and lies to elena 24/7 elena has a plan with damon to put vervainin his body this was suprisingly all elena's idea damon puts him into the dungen until stefan stops craving for human bloodmoreless
