  • New characters, hmm

    7.5
The show is ok, don't get me wrong, but some stuff are just plain annoying. The writers like to downplay the strenght of the old vamps so the Salvatore brothers can have a got at them.. should've made them older then.. would make more sense.

Making Damon and Stefan run around and putting Elijah and Rose looking at each other clueless is kinda lame.. take True Blood for example.. Russell completely nailed Bill and Eric doesn't even have the balls to go after cause he knows better..

So the cast knows they need to come up with something good or the bad dude will totally destroy them. But in this episode.. come on.. the guy was "defeated" in 2 minutes. He didn't even put up a fight.. broke some bones, threw both brothers 30ft away from him.. nothing.. I think even Katherine handled them easier..

Anyways.. let's see what happens next. Story is getting interesting..

    Cheers!moreless
  • Hmmmm....

I would call this the least impressive VD episode since Season 2 started. And in more ways than one.

Firstly, it felt too rushed and disjointed, very unlike previous episodes. The beginning scenes where Damon decides to go with Stefan for Elena just felt meh. It wasn't normal, if you catch my drift.

Secondly, introducing new characters in the middle of the season without much of a backstory really didn't work for me. Even by the end of this episode, I still didn't know whether I wanted them dead or alive. (On the other hand, Elijah gave me the creeps. He seems pure evil and needs to be killed like pronto). Plus the actress playing Rose was horrible (in Supernatural she was SO much better)>

And finally, it was clear how much they wanted to copy Supernatural with the "road trip bonding" thing, and it was decently done, but, I mean, COME ON!!

Heres to hoping next weeks episode will come back up to the Vampire Diaries we all know and love.moreless

Rose was a superb episode of The Vampire Diaries. I really enjoyed watching this episode. It had lots of action, intrigue, and drama. I thought the story was very interesting, and we were introduced to new characters, and learned more about the vampire world. I like when we get to see more of the bigger picture within a supernatural society. This episode was very entertaining, and I think that the story line is headed in a great direction. The ending was a bit shocking and puts a good twist into the season. This is definitely an original story and the actors are more appealing with each episode. I look forward to watching what happens next!!!!!moreless
  • Watch Supernatural and LEARN!!!

    7.0
Okay, it was a good episode, not all of it which I'm surprised of actually, because so far there was not a perfect episode was ever made since the series started but for the rest of season 2, this one considered a good one and not because of the plot or the usual characters, it was good because of Lauren Cohen and her appearance in the show.

Well the show started with Elena being kidnapped and then they introduced the new awesome vampire Rose, who totally rocked this episode-remember Lauren in Supernatural and seeing her now, she got so much better as an actress and her character now, even with being in the show for only few minutes made the whole thing much more interesting, plus she is a better actress now than most of the female actresses in the show except for Caroline's character, and I'm so looking forward to see more of her in the show.

1-Road trip, seriously, is it just me or TVD is trying to get more of Supernatural than they should? No offence indeed, but the writes of the Vampire Dairies are not doing a great job, a good one but not great. As in this scene where Damon and Stefan were in the car on their way to save Elena, they pulled the whole bro talk *hint for Supernatural!* and well, they are the one who forced the comparison because they copy paste it, and well, they didn't win it, my vote goes for Supernatural Of course, I still love you Damon! 2-Bonnie..., no words really, trying to be little positive here.

3-Tyler and Caroline, well that is the second interesting thing in the episode-after Rose-the developing relationship between those two will get to be a good thing in my opinion, so let's hope writers won't mess this one up! Fingers crossed.

4-That alpha vampire,,,, oops, I mean the "original" vampire, was cool, and it was going to be so silly if he was killed, though, I thought normally vampires and even if they were ancient die when they get stabbed in their hearts with a stake! Oh, maybe Damon should have got a bigger stake????moreless
  • What Supernatural should've been if it would've been done right.

    9.5
As Sam and Dean'd ride the Impala, Stefan and Damon ride into the sunset to find that Bella...errr Rose, has beat them to the puch, which isn't too hard considering no one realized until next morning that Elena was missing.

How much do I love "The Fox and The Hound" angle of Caroline and Tyler? Let me count the ways: from the newfound appreciation Damon has about his baby vampire, to the dormant instict within Tyler and Caroline's vow to keep this a secret, their story is as pivotal as it is ominious. It's amazing how a supernatural bond between enemy species could make these two creatures look more human than they've ever been.

And yet, its that same bond that humanizes Damon & Stefan, an uncanny connection that mirrors Tyler & Caroline's and brings out the best in the participants, the kind of bond that makes Bonnie ignite the spark of manhood within Jeremy and somehow makes Damon realize that, unlike Stefan, he's not good enough for Elena.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • On the missing posters for Aimee Bradley at the high school you can see her date of birth is March 16, 1994.

    • Goof: The back of Elena's shirt has significantly less blood than was shown in the previous episode, when it was completely saturated with blood after the injuries she sustained while linked to Katherine.

    • Goof: In several scenes in the episode, Caroline's scarf moves from loosely draped around her neck to tighter against her neck as the camera angle changes.

    • Goof: When Bonnie and Jeremy are in his room, Bonnie pulls her spell book and a notepad from her bag. She rips a piece of paper out of the notepad, sets it on top, and starts writing. When the camera changes to the close-up shot of her writing, Bonnie is writing inside the notepad and not on the loose piece of paper.

    • When trying to locate Elena after Bonnie casts the spell, Jeremy states that her location is over 300 miles away. Charlottesville, VA (slightly north of fictional Mystic Falls) to Reidsville, NC where Bonnie's spell tracks Elena, is approximately 150 miles, half of what Jeremy states.

  • QUOTES (1)

    • Damon: I just have to say it once, you just need to hear it. I love you, Elena. And it's because I love you that...I can't be selfish with you...and why you can't know this. I don't deserve you. But my brother does. (Damon kisses her forehead) God, I wish you didn't have to forget this. But you do.
