Goof: When Carol Lockwood first enters Sheriff Forbes' office, the band of her sling is straight, but when the camera angle changes, the band is twisted.
Goof: When Maddox attacks Katherine after she ends her phone call with Isobel, Katherine has Elena's necklace around her neck. However, when the camera angle changes after Katherine falls to the floor, the necklace is missing.
In the previous episode, the sign on the outside of the Gilbert's lake house is located to the right of the front door and is visible as Stefan is waiting for Elena to invite him inside. In this episode, when Elena falls out of the house after stabbing herself, the sign is on the left side of the door.
It is revealed in this episode that at the time Lexi and Stefan first met, Lexi was going by the name Alexia Branson.
The license plate on Stefan's car is Virginia plate V82-638.
Goof: When Elena is texting Tyler (thinking she's sending a message to Caroline), the message on her phone reads, "Headed to lakehouse w Stefan. U ok?" When Tyler looks at the message on the other end the message reads, "Headed to the lake house with Stefan. U ok?"
We learn that Caroline's house number is 2115.
Rose says that she is from St. Austel and that the city is located 30km south of London. In reality, St. Austel is actuality located more than 400km southwest of London.
Viewers can call (919) 399-2507, Isobel's cell phone number shown during the episode, and hear a recorded message from Stefan, Elena and Damon.
The text message that Alaric sends to Stefan lists Isobel's number as (919) 399-2507. The 919 area code is associated with the Raleigh, North Carolina area. This is the same phone number that Elena used to call Isobel in season 1, episode 15.
Goof: When Tyler turns back into a human and Caroline goes to help him, she picks up a lamp. When she kneels down next to him she puts the lamp on the floor and it rolls over. Then camera shots to Tyler's face and back to the whole picture and the lamp is sitting straight.
Possible Goof: After Bonnie seals the door to Elena's house to prevent her from leaving, it sounds like she says, "It's for the best, Nina." That's the name of the actress, Nina Dobrev, who plays Elena, not the character.
Goof: At the beginning of the episode when Elena returns to her room after going into the hallway to check on the noise, she pulls back all the blankets on her bed. However, when the shot cuts back to her in bed, Elena is only under the red throw.
On the missing posters for Aimee Bradley at the high school you can see her date of birth is March 16, 1994.
Goof: The back of Elena's shirt has significantly less blood than was shown in the previous episode, when it was completely saturated with blood after the injuries she sustained while linked to Katherine.
Goof: In several scenes in the episode, Caroline's scarf moves from loosely draped around her neck to tighter against her neck as the camera angle changes.
Goof: When Bonnie and Jeremy are in his room, Bonnie pulls her spell book and a notepad from her bag. She rips a piece of paper out of the notepad, sets it on top, and starts writing. When the camera changes to the close-up shot of her writing, Bonnie is writing inside the notepad and not on the loose piece of paper.
When trying to locate Elena after Bonnie casts the spell, Jeremy states that her location is over 300 miles away. Charlottesville, VA (slightly north of fictional Mystic Falls) to Reidsville, NC where Bonnie's spell tracks Elena, is approximately 150 miles, half of what Jeremy states.
Several times during this episode, it appears as if Katherine is not wearing her lapis lazuli stone necklace and is walking around during the day without being affected by the light. However, she now wears a lapis lazuli bracelet.
