At a car wash fundraiser, Bonnie experiences more with her powers. At the car wash, Elena talks to the same old man who recognized Stefan and she asked him how he knew him. He tells her that hew stayed at the Salavatore Boarding House in June 1954 and Stefan was there, the same time Stefan's uncle was bitten by an "animal". Elena then decides to do research and finds a video of his uncles body and in the background is Stefan. She then realizes that Stefan is a vampire and runs over to his house, she contemplates whether to go in or not and he opens the door and she says "What are You?" episode ends.....

Elena and Jenna have a problem with Jeremy's relationship with Vicki. Stefan comes clean about his past to Elena. At a fund-raiser, Bonnie is taken aback by how advanced her powers are, and turns to her grandmother for guidance. Elena uncovers some news about the Salvatore family. I haven't watched the show for a while now due to the fact that I hardly have any time to watch it, but I'm trying to catch up now. I love the scene at the start with Damon and Stefan, very interesting. I love the scene with Jeremy and Nikki scene, and the fact that Elena finds out, funny really. I love the way Elena is moaning or complaining about Stefan, love it. I love the scene between Stefan and Elena, then Caroline is asking about Damon who apparently isn't coming back, we will see about that. I love the scene where Stefan saves the uncle awesome scene. I also love the scene with Elena and Matt playing pool and talking about Stefan. Then the scene when Elena and Stefan and the old man knows Stefan, awesome storyline! I love the scene with Jeremy and Elena and he tells her to get something to eat then Stefan is cooking her tea, and then were he starts talking about himself. Then he nearly gets caught with his eyes. They are so cute together. I love scene where everybody is washing the cars, and Boonie does that to the girl, nicely done. I lov eht scene between Elena and the old dude, awesome storyline. I love the scene between Elena and Stefan after the talk with the old man. I love the way Caroline comes to get Damon out, then Stefan is there and it's just basically just awesome! Elena has worked out who Stefan is, awesome storyline. I love the ending, so awesome!moreless

    Season 1

Episode 5: You're Undead to Me

Stefan shares some of his past with Elena. Bonnie discovers she has abilitties she didnt know about. Stefan captures Damon in his basement and drugs him, but Damon hipnotizes Caroline in order to be free and kills Zach. A stranger reveals some of Stefan information to Elena. This episode was rlly cool, interesting and grt. I had liked the previous episodes of the vampire diaries, but this one's the best (that I've seen so far). Elena seems to have finally discovered what Stefan is, and it seems that Damon has killed Vicki (it is revealed later what really happened). Grt ep!moreless
  • Okay, absolutely amazin' episode! Best ep ending!! yet

    This episode's ending was epic!!

I was a little disappointed that they killed Zach, and left Caroline alive. I think the EXACT OpPOSITE should have happened!! I don't really care about Vicky's apparent death, except for the fact that her death will kindd of kill of all of Jeremy's storylines (or at least that's what it appears to look like). Maybe it'll make him set out to kill Damon. Who knows??

I'm glad that Elena FINALLY found out!! I don't think it was too soon, and I absoluttely loved the cliffhanger at the endo f the episode when Elena confronts Stefan and says, "What are you?"

    TTY next week.moreless
  • Yeah..

Took her long enough. But the scene where she figures out what Stefan is.. wow, talk about deja vú.. but I guess it can be different than a scene where the character goes all zen and gather her thoughts and finally understands the clues.

Damon gets out. We know he would.. but poor Zack.. got bashed like that.. he didn't much in the show but complain about vamps. But I felt sorry for the guy.

And Jeremy.. how sad is he? Chasing around that girl who only wants to get high.. some serious issues going there..

Oh well.. gotta watch the next episode.. the truth is out there.. haha

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • Goof: In the scene where Elena wakes up and reaches for her diary, one shot shows her vervain necklace hidden under her hair on her right, but the next shot shows the necklace in the middle of her chest. The next few shots alternatively show the necklace in the two positions.

    • Tituba's house number is 2136.

    • Goof: In the scene where Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) chases Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) up the basement stairs after she lets him out of the cell, there is a bright light shining at the bottom of the steps even though the basement was dark in the previous scenes.

  • QUOTES (15)

    • Stefan: As far as music, it's pretty much across the board, um, Dylan, Hendrix, Patsy, Willie, a little Kanye. You know what? I even like that one Miley song.
      (Elena laughs)
      Stefan: Easy...

    • Vicki: I think you might be in trouble.
      Jeremy: What'd you do?
      Vicki: Elena saw me.
Jeremy: I'm a drug-using delinquent. A girl in bed doesn't really rank, sorry.

    • Stefan: During the Dark Ages, when a vampire's actions threatened to expose or bring harm upon the entire race, he would face judgment. They sought to reeducate them rather than to punish them.
Damon: You know what will happen if I don't feed on blood.
Stefan: You'll grow weaker and weaker, and eventually you won't be able to move or speak. In a week, your skin will desiccate, and you'll mummify. A living corpse, unable to hurt anyone...ever.
Damon: So what, you just going to just leave me in the basement...forever?
Stefan: I've injected you with enough vervain to keep you weak. Once your circulation stops, I'll move you to the family crypt, and in a 150 years we can reevaluate.

    • Damon: Let me out of here, please.
      Caroline: You bit me!
      Damon: You liked it. Remember?
Caroline: Why do I keep remembering the same things...but in different ways?
Damon: You remember what I want you to remember. And now that the vervain has passed out of your system, you won't remember what you're about to do.
Caroline: What am I about to do?
Damon: You're gonna open the door. You're gonna open the door!

    • Jeremy: (referring to Vicki's friends) They're waste-of-space, small-town lifers.
      Vicki: Yeah, what am I?
      Jeremy: You're different, Vick.
Vicki: No, you are. You're the kid with the big house who's acting out because his parents died. Guess what? You'll get over it. You will pull yourself together, move on, and one day tell your kids stories about your "dark period" growing up, and I'll still be here, waiting tables at the grill, partying at the cemetery with a bunch of waste-of-space, small-town lifers. Go home, Jeremy. If I want to feel like crap about myself, I'll just go back to Tyler.

    • Elena: Dear Diary, I'm not a believer. People are born, they grow old and then they die. That's the world we live in. There's no magic, no mysticism, no immortality. There is nothing that defies rational thought. People are supposed to be who they say they are and not lie or hide their true selves. It's not possible. I'm not a believer. I can't be. But how can I deny what's right in front of me? Someone who never grows old. Never gets hurt. Someone who changes in ways that can't be explained. Girls bitten. Bodies drained of blood.

    • Elena: (to Stefan) What are you?

    • Stefan: (to Elena) If you're going to dump me, I figure you should at least know who you're dumping. Let's start with Katherine. She had this perfect olive skin. She had this perfect laugh. She was also impatient, impulsive. Enter Damon. He claims he was with her first. I don't know. I do know I did some things I'm not proud of. My biggest regret is not being able to make things right before she died. I miss her, but I'm not crippled.

    • Damon: You won. You got the bad guy. Now nothing can come between you and Elena. Except the truth. The lies will catch up to you, Stephan, long as you keep lying to yourself about who you are. Stefan: The beauty of you in there and me out that I can walk away.

    • Matt: (to Stefan) I'm saying this because of Elena. She's big on trust. The more you try to hide whatever it is you're hiding, the more determined she's gonna be to figure it out.

    • Bonnie: I don't know what's happening to me.

    • Elena: I want so much to make things right but every instinct in my body is telling me to be careful. What you don't know can hurt you.

    • Jeremy: Why don't we choose not to get high?
Vicki: I hope you're not one of those guys who now that we're together tries to change everything about me.

    • Zach: You don't visit, Damon... You appear. Periodically. Reminding me that this isn't my house, that you're only allowing me to live here ... allowing me to live.
Damon: Someone had to mow the lawn.

    • Damon: I'm stronger than you think.
Stefan: You always have been. But you're not stronger than verveine. And you know it. I'm sorry. It didn't have to be this way.

    • Stefan: (to Elena) I think Seinfeld is the best American television show of the past fifty years, but I Love Lucy is all-time. The Loving Cup episode is the best, I think. Huge Scorsese fan, I can watch Taxi Driver over and over again.

Seinfeld is a sitcom that ran from 1989 to 1998, and many critics consider the show among the greatest of all time. I Love Lucy is another comedy series. The show ran from 1951 and 1957, and the episode Lucy and the Loving Cup aired during the show's final season. Taxi Driver is a 1976 movie that was directed by Martin Scorsese and starred Robert De Niro.

    • Stefan: (to Elena) I'm an avid reader, huge Fitzgerald fan. The Great Gatsby is a masterpiece. But I'm no snob, I love some good Grisham.

The Great Gatsby is a classic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, published in 1925. The book is set in the early 1920s and comments on the immorality and materialism that came with prosperity in America after World War I. John Grisham is an author, best known for his courtroom thrillers. Several of his books have been made into movies, including The Firm and The Pelican Brief.
