As most of us know, many characters on Venture Bros are parodies of characters found in pop culture, especially comics.

I was wondering, are The Investors parodies of any characters in particular? I ask because there were very similar characters in The Tick comic series, which is also well-known for character parodies. The Tick characters are three winged lawyers who speak in rhyme, who are pretty similar to the Investors (three supernatural businessmen). I've always wondered if they were original characters, and if not, what characters they were based on.

And in case you were wondering, they appeared afterChris MucCulloch (aka Jackson Publick) stopped writing Tick comics.

The Investors themselves are probably parodies of Twilight's Volturi.

I had to laugh that they actually recognized that limited-distribution, Americans-love-it Canadian teen drama, though.
