Two weeks ago, we were graced with the episode "Twenty Years to Midnight". One week ago, we watched "Victor. Echo. November." This week, we got "Love-Bheits", which did not live up to the previous episodes. Don't get me wrong, I thought the episode was funny. I mean, it had the Magic 8-Ball Man, Hank's obsession with being Batman and Baron Underbheit wailing on H.E.L.P.eR. for no reason, but it just wasn't enough to live up to the likes of the Grand Galactic Inquisitor (IGNORE ME!!!). Still, it set up for the future where Underbheit starts living with the Monarch. It was an enjoyable episode, but not the best.moreless

So, do we really need another down-on-his-luck super-villain in this series? Seriously, the Baron had the resources of a small country at his disposal and couldn't get to Dr. Venture, so how is he supposed to be threatening hanging out on the Monarch's couch? At least the cocoon seems to be up and running again, with a full complement of henchmen. I miss those henchmen guys.

Too, too much of Dean's ass. Male nudity only gets you so far in my book, and Dean's ass missed its stop a couple of blocks back. A Princess Leia costume? Really? What guy wears something like that? And I'd think that the Baron could do a little better than a bony little teenage boy. Although judging by the looks of Underland, maybe his only other option was Girl Hitler. Not a lot of prospects in a place like that.

But there were some bright spots: Cat-clops, the resistance fighter of modest aims; Brock in a Chewbacca suit; and...ummm...I don't know, the Monarch was in it. That was alright. Not so good as last week's episode, but still worth a few chuckles. Oh yeah, the palace guard with testicular cancer. That was classic.moreless

  Hank is wearing a vintage trick-or-treat costume of the DC Comics superhero Batman (which he wore occasionally in several episodes), but talks like the modern post-1989 "Dark Knight" version of the character.

  This quote is an homage to Star Wars: A New Hope, where Han Solo gave the same direction to the co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon, Chewbacca. However, the writers got the quote wrong, because Han asked Chewie to lock in the auxiliary power, not lock down.

  The name of Baron Underbheit's territory, Űnderland, is a reference to Wonderland from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

  Near the end of the episode, Team Venture returns to Michigan, and Brock (in his Chewbacca costume) is carrying H.E.L.P.E.R. (in pieces) on his back. The style in which Brock carries him also help contribute to the reference made from The Empire Strikes Back, where Chewbacca is carrying C-3PO when Han Solo is being frozen in carbonite. Like C-3PO, H.E.L.P.E.R. is the recovered broken android.
