It's back, I won't write anything about the episode, I know this is supposed to be a review I'm just so damn excited this show is finally back on! Season 3 starts off with a bang and never lets up. If you've never seen this show go buy seasons 1 and 2 and enjoy Brock Samson, Dr. Venture, Orpheus, and the boys, plus so many more memorable and hilarious characters. Please watch this show, support it, buy the DVDs then hope for a season 4, 5, and 6.. let's keep good shows alive! The fact that Venture Bros was approved for season 3 goes to show that there are many intelligent people out there with great humor. Which is baffling to me since people make me sick, but to all you that keep this show going thank you, keep doing what you're doing, this series needs to live on, it has so much potential.moreless

  • Trivia

    ADD TRIVIA
    • It's revealed here that the Monarch had extensive dealings with Phantom Limb and Dr. Girlfriend when they were a couple. However, this seems to contradict a scene in the episode "Tag Sale-You're It!" where the Monarch claims to be ignorant of Dr. Girlfriend's history with Phantom Limb, asking her "Didn't you used to work for him, or live near him, or something?" Edit
    • Trivia: The Monarch's first name is Malcolm. Edit
    • The Monarch identifies himself as Manotaur to Phantom Limb, despite the fact that there is already a real Manotaur. Interestingly, in the episode "Fallen Arches," the Monarch paints a Minotaur on his back and reveals that the Cocoon does contain its own Murderous Maze. Edit
  • Notes

    ADD NOTES
    • The opening credits are altered, and substitute the Monarch, Dr. Girlfriend, and Henchmen 21 and 24 for the Venture Brothers, Brock, and Dr. Venture. The Venture Bros. don't appear in this episode, and Brock is only seen without dialogue. Doctor Venture only appears in flashbacks Edit
  • Quotes

    ADD QUOTES
    • Councilman 2: Tell us about the traitor Phantom Limb. Monarch: I know he wears an awful lot of purple for a white guy. What else do you want to know? Edit
    • Dr. Girlfriend: What… happened to your legs? Phantom Limb: What do you know of evil? Dr. Girlfriend: Why? You "evilled" your legs? Phantom Limb: Evil is misunderstood. Society slaps our wrists and tells us to simmer down while she wages her murderous wars, destroys our planet, and prays to the mighty dollar. Dr. Girlfriend: And then she made your legs invisible? Edit
    • Councilman 1: This is not a torture, Mr. Monarch. Councilman 2: It is an interrogation. Councilman 3: Or a trial of sorts. Councilman 1: I always say it's a crucible. Councilman 2: Oh, that's way cooler. Edit
  • Allusions

    ADD ALLUSIONS
    • Watch: Meet pin-up murderess Betty Rage! Referencing Betty Mae Page, an American model famed for her pin-up photos and fetish modeling in the 1950s. After fading into obscurity, she gained a cult following and has been the subject of two Hollywood biopics, the most recent being The Notorious Betty Page (2006). Edit
    • Monarch: Really? So we're not gonna have to sit through hours of me abusing myself to Markie Post? Referencing the actress who first came to fame in The Fall Guy (1982-85) and then moved on to play the long-running public defender Christine Sullivan in Night Court (1985-92). Despite her somewhat innocent naive persona on Night Court, she featured in several cheesecake posters and photospreads in the late 70s/early 90s. Edit
    • Councilman 7: The Sea Anemone, Helcioptro, even Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Nightmare Coat. Referencing the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1968). It was Webber's first production to be performed with lyricist Tim Rice, and is based on the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. Edit
