This episode really felt like it went in a circle, but it was that glorious circle of Venture fail I've come to expect. The biggest things that came out of it were the disguises (Team Rocket could never hold a candle to Doctor Mrs. and The Monarch), the photo and Dean finally starting to talk. It didn't have quite the oomph the premiere did, but it started wrapping up the myriad loose ends season four dumped on us. Decent overall.moreless

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Dr. Venture: I'm getting real sick of that ex-henchman being a better bodyguard than the ex-villain I hired. It's so depressing when you say it out loud.

    • Twenty-One: I'm recruiting now, Grandpa, so bite me.
Hatred: Whip the little guy out. I'll go get Doc's microscope.
      Twenty-One: Oh, I got a Shai-Hulud down here. There's a Paul Maud'dib riding this worm, my friend.

    • Monarch: Creep in! Let them gather their hampers in preparation for a mighty wash load of fear-stained trousers. and just as they start the pre-treat... zpap! sizzle! Acid magnet!

  • NOTES (0)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Henchman 21: Oh, I got a Shai-Hulud down here. There's a Paul Maud'dib riding this worm, my friend.
Alluding to Frank Herbert's novel Dune (1965) and subsequent movies. In the novel, Paul Atriedes Fremen name is Paul Maud'dib, while the sandworms that they ride are called the Shai-Hulud by the Fremen natives of the planet Arrakis.

    • Monarch: With our Scooby-Dooby-Doo magic masks.
Referencing the Hanna-Barbera star Scooby-Doo, the canine star of several animated series who's teamed with the gang of Mystery Inc. in solving various cases involving (typically fake) ghosts and monsters. The villains typically wear incredibly realistic monster masks that completely alter and disguise their features, no matter how different they are from the monsters they're impersonating.
