    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Trivia: The name Henchman 21 uses when he writes to Dean's advice column is "The Viceroy." 21 also considered making that his full-fledged supervillain name in the episode "Powerless in the Face of Death." It, like "Monarch," doubles as a term for a position of authority and as a type of butterfly.

    • QUOTES (8)

      • Hank: What are you doing?
Dermott: I'm gonna put this lighter up my cornhole, so when the aliens try to probe me, and they totally will, they'll get a face full of friggin fire. Nobody goes in through my out door.

      • Henchman 24: Who the hell are you?
        Dermott: I'm Hank's friend.
Henchman 24: Yeah, I doubt that.
Dermott: Would you believe I'm Brock Samson's long-lost son?
Henchman 24: If that were true, I don't think I would have caught you this easily...
Dermott: I couldn't run because... I had a lighter up my ass.
        Henchman 24: Okay, Now I believe you're Hank's friend.

      • Dr. Mrs. The Monarch: The Monarch would never hurt me. You just don't understand him. He has a deep hate for Dr. Venture.
        Tim-Tom: Why?
Dr. Mrs. The Monarch: Because the Monarch has passion. He has more hate in his yellow glove than most villains have in their whole costume!
Kevin: Well, why does he hate Dr. Venture?
Dr. Mrs. The Monarch: Because he can't fake it. He would rather jeopardize his whole career than arch somebody else. That's why. Because he's the real thing!
Tim-Tom: No, mum. What did Dr. Venture do to the Monarch to make them enemies?
Dr. Mrs. The Monarch: Nothing worth destroying a career… a marriage. I know what I have to do. You boys stay here!
Kevin: Why can't we get a straight answer?!?

      • Dr. Dugong: But Dr. Dugong has plenty more tricks up his sleeve.
The Monarch: You don't have sleeves, you're in a seal costume.

      • The Monarch: "Showing the Vacuum Boom-Broom." Do you know what that means?
Henchman 24: That Venture's invented an exploding vacuum?
Henchman 21: And he's gave it the stupidest name ever?

      • Kevin: You wanna lose some of that belly fat right fast?
Tim-Tom: Put you on a cold steel diet.
Kevin: Be the last diet you'll ever be on.
Dr. Mrs. The Monarch: Boys, don't cut anybody.

      • The Monarch: I wanted to kick his ass. I wanted to build a machine to kick his ass. I wanted to build an empire to house the machine to kick his ass.
Henchman 24: Then, by God, let's go take a dump in his pool!

      • Henchman 21: I can't believe we didn't get blown up. We're like those guys on television. We're like main characters.
        Henchman 24: Don't jinx it!

    • NOTES (1)

    • ALLUSIONS (4)

      • Monarch: Oh please spare my life, Mr. Roboto.
Referencing the Styx song released in 1983 as part of the concept album Kilroy Was Here. Roboto is the menial robot in the prison where the concept album is set.

      • Henchman 21: What is this, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?
Referencing the 1964 novel written by Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond. The title is taken from the car, created by Commander Caractacus Pott. The car can transform into a boat or plane, and has a mind of its own. The novel was turned into a movie in 1968 and a theatrical musical in 2002.

      • Henchman 21: It's like Blair Witch-o-Vision.
Referencing the 1999 low-budget movie featuring a group of college students going into the woods to look for the legendary Blair Witch. The entire movie is presented as POV footage recovered from a camera the students were carrying.

      • Hank: Like the Highlander?
Referencing the film and TV franchise which started with the 1986 movie starring Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, one of a sub-race of Immortals who can only die through decapitation. The movie spawned four sequels, a TV series starring Connor's "cousin" Duncan MacLeod, another TV series starring Duncan's associate Amanda, and an animated series set in the future.
