  • The(should I even call them ladies?)ladies on this episode were terrible. No american deserves to be treated this way...no one deserves to be treated this way.

    1.0
I am from Hawaii where most people support Obama for president however after this interview with John McCain alot of people I know are questioning whether they will still vote for Obama. Although Obama wasn't doing the interview...it makes him look bad by suggesting that his supporters are childish and downright rude. Hawaii has a thing called the Aloha spirit which basically means to love and respect everyone. Obama has shown some poor judgement lately with disregard to the Aloha spirit which he was supposedly raised with. When you folks interviewed John McCain or should I say attacked him, it reflects badly on your candidate. Barbara Walters was amateurish at best and Whoopi sounded downright idiotic with that slavery question.

Joy was downright disrespectful(even if he isn't the president, he is a senator and deserves to be addressed as such not treated like some guy you met in a bar). Sherry kept her mouth shut(I guess she figured if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all). Elisabeth as everyone knows is a republican and is usually beligerent but today she showed tact. Also, when Obama was on the show...I don't recall Elizabeth being rude to him the way the others were to McCain. One last thing...Kudos to Cindy McCain for shutting down Barbara Walters on the houses question.moreless

    • Joy Behar: I said to him before, that I believe that if he's elected that he will go back to the old John McCain that he used to be, unless the Republican base has him by the short hairs! And he started laughing.
      (audience "ooh's" unapprovingly)
Barbara Walters: She's so polite, that's why we choose her for you.
John McCain: That's not exactly the description that -- I'd use.

    • John McCain (on Joy Behar's political stance): Did any of you all see, uh Joy on Larry King Live? I think she's on the 'undecided' category, pretty much undecided.

  • NOTES (2)

    • On September 8, 2008 at a luncheon Elisabeth Hasselbeck talked about the difference between Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama when each came on The View. Elisabeth said Cindy did not come on the show with a list of topics that Elisabeth, and the other girls, were not allowed to talk about, unlike Michelle Obama. Elisabeth said, that's because Cindy has "nothing to hide." There was an outcry in some circles for her firing as a result.

    • Cindy McCain slamed her time on this episode of The View, publiclly announcing "In spite of what you see ... in the newspapers, and on shows like The View -- I don't know if any of you saw The View [on Sept. 12,] they picked our bones clean -- in spite of what you see, that's not what the American people are saying and what they are believing."
