The opening credits have been modified to reflect John McIntire as Charles Bickford's permanent replacement.
This is the last episode in which Charles Bickford appears in the opening credits. His last on-screen appearance was earlier this season in 'Ah Sing vs. Wyoming.' During the intervening nine episodes, Bickford has remained in the opening credits while John McIntire has been credited as a special guest star. Bickford died on November 9, 1967 from a blood infection.
Victor Jory returns in season 7's 'Fox, Hound and the Widow McCloud' as the same character.
This was the first appearance of real-life husband and wife John McIntire and Jeanette Nolan as Clay and Holly Grainger. It was originally thought that ailing Charles Bickford would soon be back, so no formal introduction of Clay and Holly's characters was done. Clay Grainger was filling in for his "out of town on business" brother John. But sadly, Charles Bickford died on November 9, 1967, and his character John Grainger was never mentioned again.
Although James Drury is credited in the episode titles, he does not appear in this episode.
This episode was combined with It tolls for Thee to make the movie, The Meanest Men in the West.
