  • Daryl and Beth

    9.5
Loved this episode and the preview one mostly because of Daryl and am a sucker for romantic shit and i think this show needs it,i mean we do have Glenn and Maggie but i wanted to see something more besides them,i loved Daryl and Beths storyline because Daryl is one of my favorite characters and we only got to see his tough side so far and it was so good to see him open up a little bit and show more of his think he has great chemistry with Beth and i love that they grew closer together over these episodes,i really hope Beth is alive and we get to see more of her and Daryl in the next season and maybe their bonding turns into something more.....moreless
  • Serious Piggyback

    8.5
I tried to ignore it in the last episode, but I'm getting the distinct feeling we're going to lose Daryl this season. It's not something I want, as he's my favorite, but they're giving him way too much attention all of a sudden, and that's usually the warning. This was a much better episode than its predecessor at showing the character development and how they're coping, but I also didn't care for how quickly and how thoroughly Daryl attached himself to Beth (and totally don't believe she would have left him). But it isn't a normal situation, so I guess I can suspend my disbelief a little farther.moreless
  • What About Bob?

    8.5
The Walking Dead picked up the pace and urgency a little bit this week as we got a pretty decent flashback to when Bob was first found by Daryl (which was mentioned earlier in the season) because at first we're meant to think he was left alone by Sacha and Maggie but the little part of it being his origin was a great touch and Bob is quickly becoming my favorite character (Daryl is great but so overrated) especially because he's played by the fantastic Lawrence Gilliard Jr. who I love for his work on the Wire. He brings a nuanced and layered performance to Bob that few other characters have, many who have been around for quite some time such as Beth or Sacha, so I do sincerely hope that he stays around for quite a while as he is an excellent addition to the cast and brings the talent up that much higher. We see a bit more of Beth and Daryl's travels as they find a funeral home that looks to be recently inhabited and has supplies. I enjoyed the fact that Daryl was willing to only take part of the food and wait for whoever had been there to come back and join them. The dog approach was cute but I saw it for the decoy that it was for later on when the walkers roam into the home and Daryl has a very intense closer quarters killing spree with them involving lots of scalpels and losing several bolts of its crossbow. The scene that I can most describe it as being similar to from the show is Shane's part (back in Season 2) on the school bus where he has the one weapon while still trying to keep the bus door shut. But more interestingly when Daryl reaches the main road Beth has been taken by a mysterious hearse looking car (no doubt the person of people who had been in the home before). I'm fairly certain they lured the walkers into the house to flush them out and then take one of both of them once they retreated to the main road to escape (or maybe I'm just giving the show too much credit which is entirely possible). Daryl runs into the next day after the car and sits on the side of the road defeated until he is approached by another group of all men who ask him to join them. He holds the leader at bow-point but doesn't kill him and begrudgingly goes along. I'm sure these are also the class acts that raid the house that Rick, Michonne, and Carl were all in a few episodes back but I'm not sure if this ties in before or after that's gone down but there's surely a connection of sorts. Maggie sneaks off in the night away from Bob and Sacha as she doesn't want them to risk their lives on her hopeless venture find Glen. Bob of course goes after her anyways because in his world it's easier to be with people and surviving (no matter how foolish the path) than to be by himself "when it gets quiet" as he put so well earlier in the season. Bob even ties the Terminus drawings on the rail tracks to the transmissions coming from the veterinary hospital radio when they got the medicine from there. It was easy enough for them to follow Maggie's trail as she leaves "Glen, follow tracks to Terminus" in walker blood on every sign post in the hopes that he'll see it. Once Sacha splits from Bob (after a predictable kiss of course) it was a tad bit convenient that she just looks out the window and sees Maggie hanging out with walkers all around her. But Maggie's willingness to stick together was a great realization (also predictable and easily avoided had they talked this out without acting rashly) and one that puts the trio on the right track (pun intended) to reach the supposed sanctuary in good time along with all the rest. Also, kudos on the excellently shot fog fight at the top of the episode. Glen also saw the sign so I'm sure he's on his way to Terminus in the next episode. Good to see the show back on track with what seemed like a few episode drag hopefully the momentum can continue rolling in the next three episodes before the seasons ends.moreless
  • ''Alone'' was way better than the Flop that was ''Still''

    6.0
Alone was good compare to Still. The only parts i didn't like was the Baryl scenes other than that i've enjoyed the episode.
