small question about season 1 episode 1 Days Gone Bye

    btw i love the show But am very curious in season 1 episode 1


    Days Gone Bye the sherif rides into town on horse yet on the moterway to the left is full of cars to the right is smashed up trains whats wrong with the picture your asking

    how come the road is clear nothing if the world is comming to an end and with zombies wouldent ppl trying to flee use both sides ?



    any help to clarify this would be greatfull as i may be missing something

    That and the army had taken control of the city, they were probably organizing "orderly evacuations" and there was a nice sized concrete rail up to stop cars from jumping roads

    We are also assuming that the road is clear straight through. There could have been unseen barriers that cars couldn't work around but Rick and his horse could at the direction they ended up going.

    Having been through multiple hurricane evacs in the gulf coast, I was kinda buying the scene. The state authorities do shut down one expressway and force you to drive statewide in certain directions.
